The Bone Rod is a wand core component added by Thaumcraft 4. Is is used to craft either Bone Wands, Bone Staff Cores, or the Staff Core of the Primal. It is able to hold 75 vis of each primal aspect and has an affinity for
, naturally restoring it slowly to 8 points if it ever falls below that amount without the need for tapping Aura Nodes.

A bone used as a wand core has slightly greater storage potential than greatwood cores. What makes it superior to greatwood cores however is that if the level of Perditio stored inside it drops below 10%, it will slowly replenish without the use of a node.
