The Bucket of Liquid Death is an item added by Thaumcraft 4. When dumped on the ground, the fluid will do 2 hearts of damage (-4 HP) per second to any mobs that come in contact with it. Any mob that dies to it will drop its aspects in the form of Crystallized Essence.

This liquid is so dangerously toxic that virtually nothing can prevent it from dissolving flesh, bone and even harder substances. Nothing alive or that even displays the semblance of life can survive it.
Apart from obvious practical applications, this vile substance has another interesting property: Any essentia a dissolved creature possessed form into crystals that can be harvested.
