Chisel is a mod originally created by AUTOMATIC_MAIDEN, but currently maintained by the Chisel Team. It adds a large variety (over 400) of aesthetic blocks to the game, useful for building. Most of the blocks added have no special properties, instead made for purely decorational purposes. A fair amount of blocks have connected textures, and some also have randomized or animated textures such as Lava/Water Stone and Energised Voidstone. Some blocks, such as Concrete, also have other effects.

|Mod||Chisel (Chisel Team)|
The Chisel is the core item of the Chisel mod. Right-clicking while holding the tool will open an interface with one large input slot and multiple output slots. Placing an appropriate block in the input slot will fill the output slots with blocks that can be created from the input one. Left-clicking a block in the world with the tool in hand will change the block to a different version of the block.

World generation[edit | edit source]
In Minecraft versions 1.7.10 and below, Chisel also adds a few new blocks to world generation that were not present in that version- Andesite, Diorite, Granite, along with Marble and Limestone which are not present in vanilla. They can all be found where regular stone can, and can be used in the Chisel item.
Mod support[edit | edit source]
Chisel has support for chiseling various blocks added by other mods, such as Thaumcraft 4's Thaumium Block and Blood Magic's Blood Rune. It also has support for using the chisel to create already existing variants of designs, like Applied Energistics 2's Certus Quartz Block.
