Copper Ore can be found in the overworld between y levels 40 and 86, and from 20 to 55 in oceans. It's max vein per chunk is 2 and has a cluster size of 18, while in the desert it generates a max of 4 veins per chunk and has a cluster size of 15, making it slightly more prevelant.

  +
<!--T:34-->
  +
It is often used in pipes and fluid storage. It can be mixed with [[Zinc]] to create Brass.

Copper Ore can be found in the overworld at the y-levels between 0 and 80. Approximately 10 ore veins can be found per chunk. As of version 0.27.0, if enabled in the configuration file, it can be found in the Nether, the End, and as of version 0.28.0 a configurable set of dimensions as well. It has the same spawn rates in these dimensions, except in the End and Nether it is found below Y level 128.

Small copper ore spawns at a height of 60 to 120 with a relative frequency of 32 in the overworld, the nether, and the end. Regular copper ore spawns as large deposits of Tetrahedrite and Chalcopyrite, and as a trace mineral in Limonite deposits. See [[GregTech_5/Mining_and_Processing#Default Ore Mixes|GregTech's Ore Mixes]] for height ranges and other details.

Copper is a material and an element added by various mods.

Create

Copper Ore can be found in the overworld between y levels 40 and 86, and from 20 to 55 in oceans. It's max vein per chunk is 2 and has a cluster size of 18, while in the desert it generates a max of 4 veins per chunk and has a cluster size of 15, making it slightly more prevelant.

It is often used in pipes and fluid storage. It can be mixed with Zinc to create Brass.

Esteemed Innovation

As added by Esteemed Innovation
Main article: Ore configuration format

Copper can be used to create a Storage Block, Thin Plate, and Nugget.

Copper Ore generation is completely configurable using JSON. It allows for configuration of minimum and maximum Y values, maximum veins per chunk, which blocks to replace in the world, the dimension, and biome to generate in according to the values.

By default:

  • Extreme Hills, Extreme Hills Edge, and Extreme Hills with Trees between Y levels 80 and 128, with a maximum of 5 veins per chunk. It can replace stones, dirts, grasses, sands, sandstones, and gravels.
  • Hell between Y levels 0 and 128, with a maximum of 10 veins per chunk. It can replace netherracks.
  • Sky between Y levels 0 and 128, with a maximum of 10 veins per chunk. It can replace endstones.

Flaxbeard's Steam Power

As added by Flaxbeard's Steam Power

Copper Ore can be found in the overworld at the y-levels between 0 and 80. Approximately 10 ore veins can be found per chunk. As of version 0.27.0, if enabled in the configuration file, it can be found in the Nether, the End, and as of version 0.28.0 a configurable set of dimensions as well. It has the same spawn rates in these dimensions, except in the End and Nether it is found below Y level 128.

It can be used to create a Storage Block, Plate, and Nugget. Storage Blocks and Nuggets are created the same way as any other. Plates must be created by putting Copper Ingots into a heated Crucible, at which point the molten metal should be poured into a Mold with a Plate Mold. Six nuggets are used in the creation of a Copper Plate, which makes it unable to be used in other mod's recipes requiring their own Copper Plates.

Forestry

Found on layers above 32.

GregTech 5

Small copper ore spawns at a height of 60 to 120 with a relative frequency of 32 in the overworld, the nether, and the end. Regular copper ore spawns as large deposits of Tetrahedrite and Chalcopyrite, and as a trace mineral in Limonite deposits. See GregTech's Ore Mixes for height ranges and other details.

GregTech 6

As added by GregTech 6

Copper has a melting point of 1357K and a boiling point of 2835K, along with a density of 8.96 grams per cubic centimeter. It can be obtained by smelting Chalcopyrite, Tetrahedrite, or Malachite, or as a byproduct of ore processing for Malachite or Gold. Processing Copper Ore results in Cobalt, Gold, Nickel, and Cobalt-60 as byproducts. When heated to 2800K in a Crucible, Copper turns into Annealed Copper. Copper can be combined into various alloys, including Sterling Silver, Rose Gold, Brass, Bronze, Black Bronze, Red Alloy, Signalum, and Cupronickel.

IndustrialCraft 2

As added by IndustrialCraft 2

Found between layers 10 and 70 with a max vein size of ten.

Immersive Engineering

As added by Immersive Engineering

With Immersive Engineering, Copper has a max vein of 8, and is found between layers 40-72. These numbers are configurable.

Copper is used for making many different LV machines and components, such as Copper Coil Blocks and the LV Capacitor.

MineChem

As added by MineChem
Main article: Copper (Cu)

MineChem adds Copper in the form of test tubes which can be obtained from copper of other mods. With this test tubes other materials and elements can be created.

NuclearCraft

As added by NuclearCraft

Spawns as Copper Ore between Y=0 and Y=32

Project Red

Config options

In the "ProjectRed.cfg" configuration file (in the "config" folder), the generation of Copper Ore can be disabled, and the generation can be reduced by increasing the resistance value. Furtermore, the enabling of the retro generation allows to generate the ore in an old world, which was started without Project Red.

"World Gen" {

    I:"Copper Ore resistance"=0
    B:"Copper Ore retrogen"=false

Railcraft

As added by Railcraft

Copper can be obtained in Railcraft through the Poor Ore system implemented in version 9.1.0.0. It can be found throughout most layers in the world. It can be cooked into Copper Nuggets.

RedPower 2

Found, somewhere *TODO*

Tech Reborn

As added by Tech Reborn

Copper Ore spawns between Y-level 20 to 60, with a vein size of 8 and 16 veins per chunk.

Thermal Expansion

As added by Thermal Expansion 3

Found between layers 33 and 46 with a max vein size of eight. Every Public FTB pack that includes Thermal Expansion will use Thermal Expansion as the main ore generation.

Thermal Foundation replaces the Thermal Expansion ores in Minecraft version 1.7 and up.

Thermal Foundation

As added by Thermal Foundation

Spawns as Copper Ore between Y=40 and Y=75.

Tinkers' Construct

As added by Tinkers' Construct

Found between layers 4 and 64. In addition to stone ores, you may also find Copper Ore gravel, and Copper Oreberry Bushes.
