− | The Extruder is a machine that shapes plastic materials and metals. A low voltage Extruder is suitable to work soft materials, like rubber, plastic and glass, but to work most metals, a medium voltage Extruder is required. Some harder metals, like Tungstensteel and Naquadah, even require an high voltage one. |

− | Anonther interesting use of the extruder is to craft toolheads. The machine consumes EU, but it won't wear out, unlike tools like Hammers and Files used in handcrafting. Also, with an Extruder is possible to make tiny and huge Pipes, which aren't craftable otherwise. |

The Extruder is a machine in GregTech 5. It is an extremely fast, flexible, and expensive semi-universal metal shaping machine. The Extruder is capable of carrying out recipes from the Bending Machine, Wiremill, and Fluid Solidifier, several standard Shaped Crafting recipes, and certain Extruder-specific variations of them.
The Extruder cannot be used without an Extruder Shape. The Shape an Extruder holds determines the type of item it will output.
Importantly, the Extruder is the only way to craft Plastic and Rubber components without losing materials. The Extruder also consumes substantially less energy than normal while working with Plastic and Rubber, and they are the only two materials a Basic Extruder can work with. Most metals require an Advanced Extruder, and certain metals even require an Advanced Extruder II.
Recipe
Like every electric machine in GregTech 5, the Extruder comes in 5 variants, one for each voltage from Low to Insane.
Usage
A common use of the Extruder is to craft metal Rods from Ingots. Unlike the Lathe, crafting rods in an Extruder yields two Rods per Ingot, rather than one Rod and some metal Dust.
