Extruder (GregTech 6)
- This page is about the Extruder added by GregTech 6. For other uses, see .
The Extruder is a crafting machine added by GregTech 6. It uses Extruder Shapes to reshape materials from one form to another, such as Dust to Curved Plates or Ingots to Gears. Unlike in previous versions, the Extruder can reshape any form of the material to any other form.

Usage[edit | edit source]
The Extruder has two item inputs for an input material and an Extruder Shape, and one item output for the result. At least as many units of input material must be provided for the given Shape; if the input amount is not a multiple of the Shape's required amount, the remainder will be destroyed. The Extruder Shape will not be consumed.
The crafting speed of the Extruder depends on the material weight, multiplied by the material's melting point, added to the amount of material in the input item. This means the Extruder will work faster when the input item contains a lot of material, such as a Block of Dust or a Block of Solid Metal. The Extruder will also work faster when processing some simple materials such as Rubber or Glass. In general, the Extruder is slower than using a Smelter and Mold for a given input item, but has a wider range of output options including several that have no corresponding Mold.
The primary use of the Extruder is to efficiently craft Rubber Sheets to use for cable insulation, since melting Rubber in a Smelting Crucible or Smelter will destroy 1/3 of the input material. It is also useful to craft Pipes and Cells without wearing out any hand tools.
