A demonstration of Framed Red Alloy Wire, Framed Insulated Wires, Framed Bundled Cables and Insulated Wire with their connectivity.

The Framed Insulated Wire is a redstone wire added by Project Red. The difference from the Framed Wires is the ability to place the framed wires freely in the world without the need of an object, to which the wires are placed (shown in the picture).

It is used for transmitting redstone signals, such as Redstone and has several specific properties.

  1. It does not have the signal range of 8 blocks like the redstone; instead it has a range of 255 blocks (4 x 64 wires - 1 wire).
  2. It connects to Framed Red Alloy Wire and Framed Bundled Cable.
  3. It comes in 16 different colors (see Recipe). This makes it possible to lay wires with different colors next to each other, which will not connect to each other (shown in the picture). This allows to narrower space different signals to be transmitted separately.
  4. Insulated Wires with a different color can be placed under the Framed Insulated Cables without connection (shown in the picture). The Red Alloy Wire and the Bundled Cable can also placed under the Framed Insulated Cables but will connect with it.
