Hephaestite Shard is an item added by Defiled Lands. It can be mainly obtained by mining Hephaestite Ore, commonly found in defiled biomes, and can also be found inside defiled dungeons.
It can be used to light fires, similarly to a Fire Charge, which will consume the Shard in the process. It can also be used as a Furnace fuel, smelting up to 8 items just like Coal, and can also be used to craft Torches and Blazing Blastem Fruits.
