This page is about the Insulated Wire from Project Red. For other uses, see Insulated Wire.
Picture 1: The 16 different colored Insulated Wires don't connect to each other, but connects to non-insulated Red Alloy Wire (below) and Bundled Cables (above).
Picture 2: Four different Insulated Wires on the ground, the sides and the ceiling in a space of one block without connections.
The Insulated Wires are redstone wires added by Project Red. These are used for transmitting signals, such as the vanilla redstone, but have several specific properties.
These wires doesn't have the signal range limitation of 8 blocks like the vanilla redstone, but a range of 255 Blocks (4 x 64 Wires - 1 Wire).
These wires connects to bundled wires and non-insulated red alloy wire (picture 1).
These wires may be placed on the ground, on the sides as well as on the ceiling. Furthermore four of these wires can be placed on the space of one block (picture 2). (For even higher transmission level see Colored Bundled Cables)
These wires are included in 16 different colors (see Recipe). This makes it possible to lay wires with different colors next to each other, which don't connect to each other (picture 1). This allows to narrower space different signals to be transmitted separately.
