The Large Boiler is a 3x4x3 multiblock steam boiler added by GregTech 6. It accepts Heat Units (HU) from the bottom faces, water or distilled water in the lower layer of walls, and emits steam via five 'pipe holes' in the center of its sides and top.

Usage[]

A boiler has a fixed heat consumption rate and a fixed steam production rate. Steam production will be reduced by calcification unless Distilled Water is used. Calcification can be viewed with a Magnifying Glass and will never exceed 50%. To allow for pipes being unstable, the steam emission rate will double at 75% pressure.

The heat input is a total across all nine bottom faces. Steam output is shared between the five pipe holes. It would be balanced if all five were running freely, but backed-up, restricted, or disconnected pipes will draw less, leaving more to be shared by the connected pipes.
Trivia[]
There was also a sixth type of large boiler in the early version, the large tungsten boiler, which has been removed since.
In the early version, the top center of large boilers can not be sealed.
At present (6.10.01, Jan 2019), the largest pipe can carry 12000L/t; even with five extenders, this is insufficient to drain the Adamantium Boiler - it must be directly attached to (a) Multiblock Steam Turbine(s).
