The ME Preformatter allows formatting of Storage Cells. Formatting defines what a cell can hold (i.e. only cobblestone and diamonds) and allows the player to give it a name.
This mechanic can be used to maximize the number of items a storage cell can hold, as holding more of the same item uses less space than multiple item types.
The ME Preformatter does not have to be attached to an ME Network or powered.
