The Mattock is a tool added by Cyclic. It functions as both a shovel and a pickaxe when mining. It will mine a 3 x 3 area centered on the block being clicked on, with the 2 axes perpendicular to the face being mined; e.g., mining on the top face of a block will cause the mining area to be horizontal.
