This page is about the Pump from IndustrialCraft 2. For other uses, see Pump.
The Pump is a machine from IndustrialCraft 2 that is used to absorb liquids. It will only suck up liquids that are directly below it. When placed directly next to a Miner it will suck up any lava that the Miner comes into contact with.
The image above demonstrates using IndustrialCraft's Pump (with a Fluid Ejector Upgrade in it) facing an infinite water source in conjunction with Fluid Pipes from Galacticraft Core to automatically transport water to anywhere it is needed. In this particular player's house, water from the Pump is sent through the Fluid Pipes to Solar Distillers and Ore Washing Plants.
Place the block directly above any liquid. Unlike the Pump (BuildCraft) this pump requires empty containers (like Empty Cells). Place the containers in an adjacent chest or directly into the Pump's item slot. The filled container will output to an adjacent chest. If there is no adjacent chest, it will be ejected into the world.
Alternatively, Galacticraft Core's Fluid Pipe can be used to carry fluid from the pump to other machines/tanks/whatever so long as you put a Fluid Ejector Upgrade into the pump (my understanding is that Galacticraft Core's Fluid Pipe interacts with other mods by internally disguising itself as a tank-like entity). The image to the right demonstrates that pumps and fluid pipes together can be really handy for carrying water to all of your water-needy appliances.
