The Redstone Relay is a redstone circuit added by Thaumcraft 5. It works much like a Redstone Repeater, but with a few exceptions; the input and output power can be configured. The input power configuration works as a requirement to activate the Redstone Relay; if a Redstone line powers the Redstone Relay an input of 5, but the input configuration is set to 6, the Redstone Relay is not activated. If a Redstone line powers the Redstone Relay an input of 6, and the input configuration is set to 5, the Redstone Relay will be activated.
The output power is the redstone power that will be outputted; if the output power configuration is set to 5, and the Redstone Relay is activated, the Redstone Relay will output 5 power.

One practical application of this is the Redstone Relay. By sending a redstone signal through a magical substance like vis crystals you can inhibit it as much or as little as you want.
Unlike repeaters relays have two toggles - the rearmost one determines the minimum input signal required to overwhelm this inhibiting effect and allow the relay to activate.
The front toggle (next to the redstone torch) determines how strong the redstone signal is that the relay will output once it is active.
