Retrieval Node (Items)

ModExtra Utilities
TypeSolid block

The Retrieval Node (Items) is a block added by Extra Utilities. It is part of Extra Utilities' item transport system, and is generally used to move items from an inventory to the inventory it is attached to. This block will search inventories connected through a system of Transfer Pipes for items, and put them into the inventory the Node is attached to. The Retrieval Node (Items) can also have upgrades applied, by simply putting the upgrade into the lower bar of its inventory.

The Retrieval Node's GUI

Retrieval Nodes (Items) are used in a item transport system, along with the many different varieties of Transfer Pipes. The Node searches along the attached Transfer Pipes for the nearest inventory, and pulls items out of that inventory and into the inventory that the Node is connected to. You can also place items in the attached inventory by placing them in the Retrieval Node's internal buffer.

The Retrieval Node (Items) also accept upgrades. These can be applied by simply placing the crafted upgrades in one of the six slots on the bottom of the GUI. The following are the applicable upgrades and their effects:

Upgrade Effect

Increases the speed that the Retrieval Node searches for inventories. The speed depends on the number of upgrades.

When not attached to a block, the upgrade will allow for the Retrieval Node to pick up items off the ground. The range depends on the number of upgrades. When attached to the Cobblestone block in a cobble-gen, the node with a world interaction upgrade will mine the cobblestone and collect it in it's buffer. The number of cobblestone per second depends on the number of upgrades.

This upgrade allows the Retrieval Node to grab a stack of items from an inventory at a time, as opposed to one item at a time.

The item inside the internal buffer will not be consumed when placed in an inventory with this upgrade applied.
