Placeholder text for missing images[]

The placeholder text won't remove red links to images - it is supposed to prevent the entire link text being displayed, which can take up lots of space:
. Shortening that to something like "No image" makes it smaller while keeping it obvious that the image is missing. And the original title is still displayed in the alt/hover text. --dgelessus (talk · contribs) 17:19, 1 October 2013 (BST)

no, users can tell by the link what is supposed to be there. -- Jinbobo 17:47, 1 October 2013 (BST)
The alt text will still show when hovering over the image. By the way, {{g}} replaces missing images with a question mark in a box. That's not much more helpful and apparently not a problem. --dgelessus (talk · contribs) 18:27, 1 October 2013 (BST)
what? Then am I supposed to display text in it? is that more helpful? and does it even work? use your brain. And I believe what you were trying to say is that, there is a title for redlinks, not alt text will show when hovering over the image. -- Jinbobo 23:34, 1 October 2013 (BST)
