Welcome[]
Welcome to the FTB Wiki and I hope you enjoy your stay and translate many articles to Russian. Вы как кролики? 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 11:51, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks! I also intend to supply this wiki with block renders.
- “Вы как кролики”? What do you mean?
- Using hieroglyphs in signatures, like you have, is not recommended.
- –Nick the Red37 Russian Minecraft Wiki mod (talk) 12:01, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Edit: Retep, I don’t have bunnies, only a 2-month kitten. “Вы как кролики” is a translation error, did you mean to say “Вам нравятся кролики” (Do you like bunnies)? --Nick the Red37 Russian Minecraft Wiki mod (talk) 12:29, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- 10/10 real person that knows Russian :P Xbony2 (talk) 12:48, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Yes I intended to ask if you like bunnies... The hieroglyphs in my signature are actually unicode emoji for bunnies. You'd need to have a font installed that can handle emoji (Windows does by default), as well as a browser than can display emoji (Apparently Chrome can't but IE and FF work fine) 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 19:41, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

Redirects for GT machines[]
The reason "the wiki’s members [are] lazy to do redirects like this" is that there is no reason to bother; as all of the different tiers of GT machines do exactly the same thing, the only times links are ever created to things like the Basic Unpackager and Advanced Unpackager are in crafting grid recipes or infoboxes, and even in those cases, if they don't just link to Unpackager then whoever set up the {{Gc}}
for them did it wrong, and that should be fixed rather than just creating redirect pages.
In other words, we don't bother creating redirect pages because we try to make the original links point to the right place. PaladinAHOne Staff (talk) 19:00, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- PaladinAHOne, I come from Minecraft Wiki, where the style guide discourages using piped links wherever redirects can be used, due to wikicode clutter caused by the former. See also mcw:User talk:NickTheRed37#Redirect links. — Agent Nick the Red37 • t • c • ru.MCW user 06:40, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- The style guides of our wiki's are in no way related, however. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 06:42, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- Looking back, that wasn't really a sufficient response. We prefer having the "wikicode clutter". We expect our frequent editors to be able to handle basic wikitext/wiki syntax, and if they don't, they should learn. Creating redirects for everything is a waste of time, messes up article count statistics, and in most cases is unnecessary. Keep in mind that our templates are, in most cases and most ways, far superior to those of the Minecraft (and others) Wiki. There is almost always a way to avoid redirects. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 06:51, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- Think about it this way. GregTech alone adds over 9000 items. Do you want to create a redirect for every single item? 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 06:54, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- I myself might not, but JARVISTheBot might. My bot can do either redirect creation or link fixing if programmed properly. — Agent Nick the Red37 • t • c • ru.MCW user 06:59, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- Link fixing implies they are broken, though. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 14:37, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- “Creating redirects for everything <...> messes up article count statistics”: What? It would only do that by error. — NickTheRed37 t/c – ru.MCW user 15:41, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Wiki rules[]
- See also: User:NickTheRed37/Workbench/Wiki rules
I disagree with General rule #1. Although FTB Modpacks and FTB mods should be put first at least for staff, all mods that aren't too inappropriate are welcome to the wiki. Xbony2 (talk) 21:55, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
General rule #1 will not ever be in effect again. No. Also, that is sort of a pointless list, because #2 is implied by it being a content holder, #3 should not need to be stated, nor should #4 or #5. We don't have username rules apart from those stated in whatever page they are stated in, and those are in the abuse filter. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 00:09, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
- Stripped the “General rules”, but it may sooner or later be readded, if we would need some special general rules. — NickTheRed37 ᐸ t · ru.MCW user

- btw, I've been thinking, shouldn't we allow unlisted public FTB packs to be on the wiki? We can give it it's own section, away from the listed packs. I know this will be the official wiki for my future modpack if I publish it, whether it's page is behind User:Xbony2 or out in the open. Xbony2 (talk) 12:03, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

Lowercase title[]
You can actually do the lowercase title thing with the template {{Lowercase title}}

Kicking LittleHelper[]
I saw your message, [02:45:02] <+NickTheRed37> Santa|AFK PLEASE RE-ENABLE LITTLE HELPER. Don't kick LittleHelper when I am AFK. I'm unable to restart the bot, and lately when I'm AFK, I'm gone for a really long time. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 17:08, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

Unnamed topic[]
MrCraft1124 (talk) 06:31, 12 August 2015 (UTC) Hello, thanks for the explanation about L template. Actualy I'm ukrainian so I can understand Ukrainian, Russian language, and English a little bit :P. I have question about | ! How to spawn it by buttons combinations like alt + numpad ?

Babel[]
It's probably a good idea to remove the languages you don't know from the babel list on your user page, so you aren't added to the language categories of those languages, as the categories are made solely to organize users that know the language of that category (did that sentence make any sense? It's a bit long). I only have Spanish (es-0) added on to my user page since I plan to learn that language/am learning that language (you could say I'm not very dedicated). -Xbony2 (talk) 16:30, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
