Image Uploading[edit source]

Thanks for the help! What about textures with multiple sides? -- Warlordjones (talk) 11:51, 17 April 2014 (BST)

  • Usually we get the icons by taking a screenshot of the item list in NEI. -- 12:28, 17 April 2014 (BST)

Re: Misc Details[edit source]

Ok, thanks for the tip about the langbar, and the link to the help page. Re the categories, I think I accidentally put the Generators navbar on a few pages where it shouldn't of, sorry about that. I have been looking at some already created pages for reference, but the witchery docs seem to be the best example, thanks.

And, no, you are not coming across as annoying at all, on the contrary, you are being very helpful on my quest to learn how to wiki properly. :)

Also, as an aside, how exactly does the icon system work? Do I send the icons in as a 3D block 'picture' if they are normal blocks, or as flat textures? And how do blocks with sided textures/active-deactivated textures work? -- Warlordjones (talk) 20:28, 17 April 2014 (BST)

  • Basically, pull all the items you can from the assets within the zip folder of the mod (if there isn't one, follow the steps for a block). For blocks, open up NEI, pull up that mod with the largest GUI setting possible, and take a screenshot. From here, just edit out the background with a program (I personally use GIMP, I think Santa said he uses Photoshop). Once done, rename all the individual files to the correct name for the block or item. Because of this, the blocks will appear in a 3D image when called in articles. As for the sided textures, it's the same drill.
In the case of active vs. de-active, however, I use the one that the player will craft. So for example, if you're familiar with Blood Magic, the Sigil of the Greengrove is using the de-active texture since that's how it comes when crafted. -- Padfoote (talk) 20:36, 17 April 2014 (BST)
  • Wonderful, thanks. --Warlordjones (talk) 20:58, 17 April 2014 (BST)
    • If you are planning on sending me the tile images, using 32x32 pixel images would be best. -- SatanicSantaSysOp•talk 02:13, 18 April 2014 (BST)
The the icons, we have the almighty Crafting grid guide. -- 10:28, 18 April 2014 (BST)

AE title stuffs[edit source]

You might want to move 16³ Spatial Storage‎ and it redirect to 163 Spatial Storage (See page for instructions to change display title) for some reasons:

  • The tooltip text does not support unicode (tooltip text can probably be overridden with the ore dict and tags)
  • Not sure if the tilesheet and oredict extensions likes it
  • The page is searchable
  • ASCII titles are neater and easier to type :P

  • I just want to make sure I get this right before I start moving (and probably breaking) things. So I should move the three AE Spatial Storage cells to n3 (where n=whatever number is in the name), do the display title change, and keep the redirect? -- Padfoote (talk) 16:08, 4 May 2014 (BST)
Yup -- 23:33, 4 May 2014 (BST)

tile backgrounds[edit source]

can you figure out if whatever software you use to make the tiles supports transparent backgrounds? It's annoying having to get rid of the white backgrounds :P -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 06:20, 20 May 2014 (BST)

huh, apparently only some of them have the white background... -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 06:22, 20 May 2014 (BST)
About half way through I added the transparent background. Sorry about that, I'll make sure all of them have it next time. -- Padfoote (talk) 16:18, 20 May 2014 (BST)

Are things like the Quantum Field Ring and Quantum Link Chamber supposed to be slightly smaller than normal blocks? -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 17:10, 21 May 2014 (BST)

Yep. -- Padfoote (talk) 17:20, 21 May 2014 (BST)

The AE tilesheet is updated. -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 20:28, 25 May 2014 (BST)

Cool. Thanks. -- Padfoote (talk) 21:01, 25 May 2014 (BST)

IC2 Navbox[edit source]

Didn't realise how much was actually there :D An hours work has left you with quite a bit to do, sorry! Chocohead (talk)

Yep, that's quite a bit. I'll do it in parts over the next couple of days for you. -- Padfoote Staff • TalkContributions 22:43, 16 June 2014 (BST)
Accidentally beat you to it :P Chocohead (talk)

Thanks for the welcome[edit source]

Hey, thanks for the welcome, everybody's being nice to me here :) I'll take a look at the guidelines for image uploading and send them off to Santa when I get them compiled. And I'll remember to add a little desc whenever I modify it. I kept doing that because I didn't see the preview button, and just kept publishing it to see every minor change. But I'll use the preview for now then :) AlexTheGre4t (talk) 20:35, 17 July 2014 (BST). --

As a warning, the preview button tends to not show anything in crafting grids (for me at least), so that may be a bit guessing game to see if you got it right. Also, sign your edits on talk pages with ~~~~. -- Padfoote Staff • TalkContributions 17:49, 17 July 2014 (BST)
No, any template seems to not show up in preview. Pretty annoying really Chocohead NagAdditions 19:34, 17 July 2014 (BST)
Infoboxes show up without issue, as well as maintenance templates. The crafting grids are the only ones I've seen so far that do not show in the preview. -- Padfoote Staff • TalkContributions 19:39, 17 July 2014 (BST)
Which preview are you lot using, I use the one that Santa uses at the bottom of the page, that displays everything (including templates) fine.
--RealSketch •Staff •TalkContributions 19:42, 17 July 2014 (BST)
I've used both. -- Padfoote Staff • TalkContributions 19:46, 17 July 2014 (BST)
Lolwut. The bottom one should show everything... -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 20:39, 17 July 2014 (BST)
It shows the crafting grid, but it's completely empty. -- Padfoote Staff • TalkContributions 21:42, 17 July 2014 (BST)
Yup, just checked, the crafting doesn't show up in the preview, the bottom one. Also, the crafting result seems to derp out on me and give me a red image too :/ AlexTheGre4t (talk) 22:25, 17 July 2014 (BST). --
that just means there isn't a tile for it yet -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 22:30, 17 July 2014 (BST)

Quartz Fiber[edit source]

Shall i make a new Quartz Fiber page for AE2, or use the existing one? as that item was discontinued in AE1 a while ago. AlexTheGre4t (talk) 09:02, 18 July 2014 (BST). --

Go ahead and modify the current one so it's AE2 only. I've been wanting to remove it for a while, so this gives me an excuse to. -- Padfoote Staff • TalkContributions 15:46, 18 July 2014 (BST)
Ok then, thanks :) --AlexTheGre4t (talk) 15:53, 18 July 2014 (BST)

A kitten for you![edit source]

Yay[edit source]

You're editing stuff again :D 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 02:28, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I felt like doing some maintenance work tonight, and think I'll start actually writing articles again. School wasn't as bad as I though it would be. -- Padfoote Retired Staff • TalkContributions 03:57, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
