verification/authorization[edit source]

How does one go about becoming 'authorized', so my documentation does not have to be reviewed? -- Warlordjones (talk) 20:22, 17 April 2014 (BST)

  • AFAIK (and remember, I'm the wiki team newb) it stays like that until you get promoted to a higher rank on here. What those ranks are, I don't know though. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though. -- Padfoote (talk) 20:25, 17 April 2014 (BST)
  • Ah, ok, no worries. Just didn't want to keep bothering you guys to authorize my work. :) -- Warlordjones (talk) 21:04, 17 April 2014 (BST)
    • I check the recent changes constantly and will approve anything I know is correct. Anything else and I leave it for someone else to check. :P -- Padfoote (talk) 22:18, 17 April 2014 (BST)
      • To have your edits automatically reviewed, you need to be an "Autoconfirmed user". How you achieve that, I don't remember. I think it's something like 50 reviewed edits, but I could be wrong. -- SatanicSantaSysOp•talk 02:05, 18 April 2014 (BST)
They way the review system works is that when a user makes an edit in the main, project and template namespaces, those edits will be marked for reviewing by reviewers and editors. If the page has at least one reviewed version of the page, then that version will be displayed for non-users, otherwise the latest version is always displayed. The review list is currently backed up to February 25th. The following is the default criteria for being autopromoted to an "Editor", they have the autochecked right and will automatically approve any edits they make, they can also review edits. I might tweak this setting in the future and make it more restrictive. -- 10:20, 18 April 2014 (BST)

Here's the icons needed for AE and BM. Most are 32x32 like you asked, however some refused to resize without getting horribly messed up, so those are still 64x64. Link. -- Padfoote (talk) 16:50, 19 May 2014 (BST)

Awesome. I'll get Blood Magic done right now, and work on AE later today or tomorrow. -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 17:00, 19 May 2014 (BST)

Cg question[edit source]

So I'm about to get started with some of the alchemy in Blood Magic, which requires a crafting template that we currently don't have. Do you know how to create one, and if so, what do you need me to do to help with it? -- Padfoote (talk) 01:30, 22 May 2014 (BST)

Just tell me how it works and give me an image of the GUI. I also need to know the name of the machine. -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 03:50, 22 May 2014 (BST)

Template shifting upon editing a page.[edit source]

Hi, as you know I'm not familiar with the wiki that much, though I'm trying to watch some tutorials. Anyway, whenever I edit a page the template on the right always centers itself in the middle of the page, causing the text to go around it. This looks quite ugly and I don't understand how this happens. When it is reviewed Jin or you seem to fix it somehow? Thanks, --RealSketch (talk) 21:06, 25 May 2014 (BST)RealSketch

Are you talking about the infobox? And can you provide a link to an example for me to take a look at? -- Padfoote (talk) 21:10, 25 May 2014 (BST)

Yeah, the infobox. Have a look at this: http://wiki.feed-the-beast.com/ExtrabiomesXL --RealSketch (talk) 21:27, 25 May 2014 (BST)RealSketch

It looks like it's on the right side to me. -- Padfoote (talk) 21:28, 25 May 2014 (BST)

Sorry to bother you, it was just a one time thing that happens upon editing, refreshing the page set it back to normal. As I said, I'm not used to Wikis or their markup. :( --RealSketch (talk) 21:31, 25 May 2014 (BST)RealSketch

Don't worry about it. Things can be a little buggy sometimes. -- Padfoote (talk) 21:32, 25 May 2014 (BST)
Which "preview" option are you using? There is the Preview button on the top of the source edit box, next to the Wikitext tab, which will not show template info (crafting tables appear empty, etc). There is also the "show preview" button next to the "save changes" button, which should show you all of the correct stuff. Also, don't apologize for asking questions, I'm fine with answering all of the ones you have :P -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 21:35, 25 May 2014 (BST)

On the current page I was editing I forgot to preview it, my mind just went straight to clicking save. After it was saved, the infobox would appear in the center on the page, but after a refresh of the page it would go back to normal. Also, another question. Both of you are obviously good at Wiki editing, may I ask where/how you learnt all this markup? --RealSketch (talk) 21:47, 25 May 2014 (BST)RealSketch

1. Okay, so it seems like the problem isn't really a problem, just a weird wiki hiccup? 2. Read some of the stuff linked in my talk archive, namely the stuff prior to joining the team. I also read the source for a lot of reviewed pages. I'm not gonna lie, I have a folder in my Wiki folder titled "Page Structures", where I keep layouts of the different types of common pages. I tend to just open one, copy all of it, then paste it into the redlink-edit page :P If you wanted, I could dropbox this folder so others could have it. -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 21:51, 25 May 2014 (BST)
RealSketch, I learned everything from looking at the Railcraft pages, and from the 10 or so links Santa sent me before I started doing edits. Feel free to drop by IRC, PM one of us, or stop by our talk pages if you have questions. -- Padfoote (talk) 22:00, 25 May 2014 (BST)

Thaumcraft 4 tilesheet[edit source]

Here are all the icons for the Thaumcraft 4 item however there are some naming difficulties since some of the items use colons in their name and Windows won't allow it in the file name. They are all in 32x32 format and can be found here. -- Madmanmayson (talk) 8:05, 26 May 2014 (BST)

Translating pages not visible in translation interface?[edit source]

Hello, I was wondering if there is a best way to translate the "single-item-related" pages on the wiki (such as the http://wiki.feed-the-beast.com/Redstone_Engine page) than to simply edit a new nameOfEnglishPage\fr page, since there is no category for this in the translation interface (those pages are maybe not marked for translation)? Is it just a MediaWiki lacking feature, or is it intended? I now take care of this since my translations are filled with links that leads nowhere. Have a nice day! -- Luxim (talk) 19:07, 14 June 2014 (BST)

I don't understand what you are asking. Are you asking what you are to do when you are linking to other pages? -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 21:39, 14 June 2014 (BST)
Sorry, I think I've been unclear. For example, you use the translation interface to translate a page, let's name it A. When you translate a link of the page A, in the page A/fr, the MediaWiki system automatically turn links that point to a page X into links pointing to a page X/fr. That looks like a great feature, but sometime X/fr don't exists yet (X has not been translated yet), and the page X is not listed in the translation interface, so there is no way to translate it later, excepts by manually creating a page named X/fr and pasting the source code of X, then translating it. That's clearly not convenient, and I was thus wondering if there is something we could do to ease this process. -- Luxim (talk) 21:15, 15 June 2014 (BST)
I'm still learning the translation extension, so correct me if I'm wrong about what you are saying. Here's what I understand
  1. Translate page A
  2. There's a link in page A that leads to page B
  3. Page B exists, but page B/languagecode doesn't exist
  4. Appears as a red link
  5. Page B has not been marked for translation <-- Is this the problem?

-- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 22:53, 15 June 2014 (BST)

Yes, exactly! And when you have something in page A like "see page B for the detailed explanation", it's quite annoying to be unable to translate the page you want. Is there any way to get around this? -- Luxim (talk) 12:56, 17 June 2014 (BST)
Well, couldn't you go to B rather than B/fr, and see if it is marked for translation? I'm gonna mark a bunch of pages for translation one of these days, with SatanicBot, of course, so hopefully this problem won't be too bad? -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 18:58, 17 June 2014 (BST)
~~ Feed the translator ~~ Ok! (Unfortunately, I can't change how links behaves in translations, the links destination is fully handled by the translation extension; if I write A it turns into a link to the A/fr page automatically, I don't think there is a way to alter this behavior...) -- Luxim Staff • Translator • TalkContributions 20:55, 17 June 2014 (BST)

IC2 Texture Request[edit source]

Can I have the IC2 textures (http://www.mediafire.com/download/br31do12n3gqinm/IC2_Textures.zip) Turned into a sprite sheet so the Navbox isn't just all red squares? Chocohead (talk)

The blocks haven't been done correctly. You need to get the from NEI or your inventory. Just screenshot your inventory and crop the image down until you can only see the item, it should be 32x32 pixels.:) Don't fear, I did the exact same thing as you.--RealSketch (talk) 22:31, 17 June 2014 (BST)RealSketch

No you didn't :P You took gigantic in-world screenshots and (somehow had the patience to) remove the background. As Real said, you need to take the screenshots from in your inventory for the blocks, so they render like they would in-game. I've found that the Normal GUI scale is great for this, because it gives me a 32x32 image for each tile. -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 22:52, 17 June 2014 (BST)

...Gimp is very good for editing images. It didn't take me long.:P Anyway, I recommend Gimp for creating tiles. --RealSketch (talk) 23:03, 17 June 2014 (BST)RealSketch

Are the items ok though? Do I remove the background of the inventory off the block textures and split them into separate images too? Chocohead (talk) 15:54, 18 June 2014 (BST)

Only if the file in the assets folder looks different in the inventory. Also, you need to name them as exactly what they are in-game, currently you have them as unlocalized names. -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 15:59, 18 June 2014 (BST)

Will do. One more thing: do I just screenshot my inventory with all the blocks then, or split them up and remove the background? Chocohead (talk) 16:50, 18 June 2014 (BST)

Screenshot of NEI, then split the blocks up. -- Padfoote Staff • TalkContributions 17:13, 18 June 2014 (BST)

Do I leave the background they have then? Chocohead (talk) 17:32, 18 June 2014 (BST)

Nope. You want just the block. -- Padfoote Staff • TalkContributions 17:33, 18 June 2014 (BST)

IC2's ore textures are very hard to separate. This will take a long time :( Chocohead (talk) 17:37, 18 June 2014 (BST)

If you are using Photoshop I highly recommend making brushes for block shapes that appear a lot. -- SatanicSantaAdminEditor 18:06, 18 June 2014 (BST)

...Or if you are using Gimp (/is better) then you have a colour selector, magic wand and other useful tools. Plus, I find Gimp more user-friendly, and the best part: it's free. You just need to zoom in and crop everything except the 32x32 pixel area of the item. Then export as PNG with (as Santa said), the exact name of the item/block. --RealSketch (talk) 18:44, 18 June 2014 (BST)RealSketch

Hmmmmmmm, 86 block textures needed 30 down. I'm getting there. Chocohead (talk) 18:51, 18 June 2014 (BST)

Once you've added the textures, will they automatically go to all the items, or is there some voodoo wiki magic needed to make it work? Chocohead NagContributions 20:00, 22 June 2014 (BST)

They should just work like magic, unless the linked names are different than the tile names, which someone will have to alert me to because I won't be checking it. You also may need to hard refresh a few times for it to appear proper. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribs 20:01, 22 June 2014 (BST)

It is only a PITA when you are building the texture sheet by hand like some sort of neanderthal. A smart person would use a program to automate the assembling of tilesheets. Retep998 Bunny Overlord•talkcontribs 14:20, 2 July 2014 (BST)

translations[edit source]

You prepare pages for translations by:

  • surrounding text to translate with the translate tag.
If the page is a template or is expected to be transcluded onto other pages, wrap the translate tag with the noinclude tag.
  • adding T to the name of templates and categories.
  • changing normal links to L.
  • making sure the page is complete and is not subject to change in the near future.
  • cleaning up any formatting errors.
  • append the langbar to the page.

If you guys have altered any of those rules, you guys did not update the translation guide and did not fix old translatable pages. --

16:11, 24 June 2014 (BST)

Well, the translation guide is super barren and doesn't give any information, so I had to scour the MediaWiki wiki about the Translation Extension. I'm not sure why you are telling me this because I already know and have been doing it... -- SatanicSantaTalkContribs 19:34, 24 June 2014 (BST)
because
  1. the translation guide is barren because translators only need to know how to translate links. The rest should be dealt with when the page is prepared for translation.
  2. you are doing it wrong
suck it -- 23:50, 28 June 2014 (BST)
after all I invented most of the stuff you are using now lol. No one knows more about the wiki than me. -- 23:53, 28 June 2014 (BST)
Jinbobo, what do you mean by using T for names of templates and categories? Retep998 Bunny Overlord•talkcontribs 12:07, 29 June 2014 (BST)
so becomes and SomeTmpl becomes -- 21:44, 29 June 2014 (BST)

The image (and therefore slots) for both. Especially the canning machine. The Ore Washing Plant is just missing a third output slot Chocohead NagAdditions 21:04, 2 July 2014 (BST)

What do the slots for each machine do? Also, you listed Canning Machine twice? -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 02:29, 3 July 2014 (BST)
2 Canning Machines because there are 2 in the game, since Thunderdark likes to confuse you. As for the other things:
  • The Ore Washing Plant just has 1 more output slot (next to the other two). That is the only difference.
  • For the first Canning Machine (called the Solid Canner in the assets folder, but Canning Machine in game):
    • The left slot is for items to be canned
The middle slot is for cells/fuel rods to have the items canned into
The right slot is for the outputted item
The slot underneath the energy icon is for batteries
  • For the Bottling Plant:
    • The top slot going into the tank is input for filled cells
The bottom slot going into the tank is the input for empty cells
The slot coming out of the tank is for the outputted full cells
The tank stores liquid that either taken either from cells or pumped in
The slot underneath the energy icon is for batteries
  • For the (other) Canning Machine - Look here http://imgur.com/a/D9i5J to see different uses
    • Fluid Enrich:
      • The top left slot is for items to be canned into (CF Backpack or CF Sprayer for example)
The middle slot is the item to be enriched
The left tank is the fluid to be enriched
The right slot is for items which are full (eg: A full CF Backpack, or CF Sprayer)
The right tank is for the enriched fluid (which didn't fit in an item or the item was full)
      Fill Cell From Tank Mode:
      • The top left slot is for cells to be filled
        The middle slot is unavailable
The left tank is the fluid to be filled into a cell
The right slot is for cells which are full
        The right tank is unused
Drain From Cell Into Tank Mode:
      • The top left slot is for cells to be drained
        The middle slot is unavailable
        The left tank is unused
The right slot is for emptied items
The right tank is for the emptied fluid
      Canning Mode:
      • The top left slot is for cells or fuel rods to be canned into
The middle slot is for items to be canned
        The left tank is unused
The right slot is for canned items
        The right tank is unused
The slot underneath the energy icon is for batteries

Thanks for clarifying[edit source]

Hi SS, Thanks for the message. I was trying to use the images I had uploaded as banners for a WIP Magical Crops mod page, but I didn't know what I was doing, so I messed that up, sorry. Just please delete anything I screwed up. In the future, I'll do images the way it's meant to be done, if/when I need them. My sandbox: yes, I realized that after I previewed the article's page. I'm going to remove the sandbox page for now, and leave it for testing of a different sort. I found the formatting I needed on one of the Wiki's guide pages, so that's fixed now. In short, I'm still "getting my sea legs" around here. Sorry for not following the guidelines so far, and I'll do my best to stay within them from now on. Thanks for bearing with me. -- The preceding unsigned comment was added by Eruantien (talkcontribs)

Template:Navbox portals has a bunch of links to various things that you may want to read. Also, use ~~~~ at the end of your messages, as it adds a signature with a link to your talk page, and a timestamp. ~~~~ adds a signature without a timestamp. You can modify your signature in the Preferences page, found at the top of the wiki. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 20:51, 5 July 2014 (BST)

clarification on reviewing and patrolling[edit source]

Pages in the main, file and template namespace needs to be reviewed, consecutive unreviewed edits can be reviewed at once. Pages with no reviewed revisions will display the latest revision, pages with reviewed revisions will display the most latest reviewed revision for anon users. You can tweak this behavior per page with the "Stabilize page" link in the admin toolbox on the right, or per user in the user's preference.

All other pages are under the patrol system. Every single edit must be patrolled, to patrol click the diff link in the pages' history or on the recent changes page. The latest revision will always be displayed.

This is part of the wiki content moderation process, so patrol and review everything when prompted. Do not ask why. --

00:55, 8 July 2014 (BST)

I'm not gonna patrol/review something if I can't verify for myself that its correct (right now that's mostly gt/ic2 stuff) -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 03:32, 8 July 2014 (BST)

Your Mods[edit source]

Why are they both for 1.6.4? They look really cool and silly, but 1.7.10 is where it's at now :( Also well done for getting featured in Bevolj's latest modded news :) Chocohead NagAdditions 21:44, 9 July 2014 (BST)

--RealSketch •Staff •TalkContributions 21:46, 9 July 2014 (BST)
Because I'm still playing 1.6.4. I'm gonna update them once I get them working just how I want them. Then, once I get them to 1.7, I'm gonna keep backporting to 1.6.4 until the community has actually moved on.
If you want the actual reason, it's because I haven't updated my development environment in like 10 months, and I'm lazy. :P -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 22:36, 9 July 2014 (BST)

Author Template Question[edit source]

Are you anticipating to make pages for each mod author? What do you do with mods like IC2 which has something silly like 12 people on the team? Chocohead NagAdditions 19:36, 10 July 2014 (BST)

Yeah the staff briefly discussed it a short while ago. For something like IC2, just do 2 Dev Team or whatever they are called. If people on it make other mods, note that and have them have their own page. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 19:38, 10 July 2014 (BST)
Only Greg makes another mod, or he's the only one who's keeping one up still. Why don't you link the names from the infobox too? Chocohead NagAdditions 19:40, 10 July 2014 (BST)
RichardG and ThunderDark have other mods too. I hate links in infoboxes, apart from modpacks and externals. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 19:42, 10 July 2014 (BST)

Forestry Tilesheet Question[edit source]

Should I get together the new textures to update the Forestry tilesheet, or is it not worth it (or someone else already has)? Chocohead NagAdditions 18:00, 15 July 2014 (BST)

Please do it, and include bees and trees. If you want to do Magic Bees, and Binnie's Mods, that'd be awesome too ;) -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 18:06, 15 July 2014 (BST)
Are the bees (and trees) all items (so can be taken out of the Forestry.jar), or do I have to get each individual one out of the game? Chocohead NagAdditions 18:18, 15 July 2014 (BST)
They are all items, but I'm not sure how they are implemented. If Sengir was clever, he might've made a grey Bee and a grey Tree and just hardcoded the colors in. Check the assets first, and if I'm correct get them from in game, if I'm wrong, get them from the assets. Bee names should be <Name> Bee, and trees should only include the species, not "Sapling" or "Tree". -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 18:21, 15 July 2014 (BST)
From what I can see, it's just a grey texture, meaning I'll have to get every bee and print-screen them. Dang. Chocohead NagAdditions 18:26, 15 July 2014 (BST)
If you use Photoshop, or another program that has brush functionality, you could just make a brush with the shape of it. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 18:27, 15 July 2014 (BST)
I don't have to do the butterflies as well do I? Since there's no imprinter for them, so there's no way I can get all of them. Chocohead NagAdditions 20:19, 15 July 2014 (BST)

Unstable[edit source]

IC2 Navbox Accepting Changes[edit source]

Do you have to be a super special wiki staff member to accept changes to it, or am I just missing something? Chocohead NagEditsStaff 17:16, 16 August 2014 (BST)

IIRC RealSketch had this problem as well. I'll look into it. Not sure what's goin on. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 17:33, 16 August 2014 (BST)
Hmmmm. Also, is there anyway to use Grid images for Navboxes? Since apparently the IC2 wiki has animated PNGs: here and here, which would work really well for the different coloured construction foam walls. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 21:36, 16 August 2014 (BST)
No, we are not going back to the old Grid images system. However, I will see what we can do about getting animations for navboxes. Retep998 Bunny Overlord•talkcontribs 23:02, 16 August 2014 (BST)
Animations would be really cool :) Chocohead NagEditsStaff 23:30, 16 August 2014 (BST)

Off Topic Template Question[edit source]

Is this just really over complicated, or was grid based templates really this much more complicated than the ones on the FTB wiki? http://pastebin.com/vFYgqTiA Chocohead NagEditsStaff 23:15, 18 August 2014 (BST)

Could you rephrase? I don't understand what you're asking. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 23:40, 18 August 2014 (BST)
Basically, the link is to the code for the IC2 wiki's crafting template for pretty much every machine in IC2 before experimental (it can apparently do any of the machines, depending on what you set). Looking at ones on the FTB wiki, they all seem a lot simpler. I was asking whether it was changing to the fancy tilesheet/ore dictionary way that the FTB wiki uses makes the templates simpler, or if it's just the IC2 one (which is still using the grid system) is very over complicated. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 23:49, 18 August 2014 (BST)
I don't know. All I know is our wiki has pretty much the best template system out of all the modded MC wikis. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 23:53, 18 August 2014 (BST)
Well I sure agree with that Chocohead NagEditsStaff 00:04, 19 August 2014 (BST)

Crafting Template Improvement[edit source]

In Template:X8, I made it so adding |shapeless=True to the crafting template gives a note about the recipe being shapeless. I admit I don't have complete understanding how it all works (the "shapeless" for example I'm pretty sure can't be translated) but it works, and isn't that far off perfect (from what I could tell). What do you think? Chocohead NagEditsStaff 01:55, 19 August 2014 (BST)

I had tried to do something like this, but it never worked out the way I wanted to. I'll put a notice on the SN about if we should add it. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 01:59, 19 August 2014 (BST)

Help Plz[edit source]

I tried updating the Canning Machine GUI, remembering to accept the change, yet it doesn't want to change :( Also the icon looks like the old GUI, even though it's a different file size and bigger (not sure if it's just visual or not). What am I doing wrong? Chocohead NagEditsStaff 21:37, 28 August 2014 (BST)

Hard refresh? -- SatanicSantaContribs•Administrator and Editor 21:44, 28 August 2014 (BST)

I don't see that, but that's what it should be. Guess it's just slow updating my end or something. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 21:57, 28 August 2014 (BST)
Just hard refresh until it works, or something *shrug* -- SatanicSantaContribs•Administrator and Editor 21:58, 28 August 2014 (BST)

Fluid Dilemma[edit source]

Since IC2 adds 10 fluids, I'll need to upload the Liquid *Name*.png files, which is fine. The problem I have is, that Forestry already has a biomass: Liquid Biomass.png, so how could I distinguish that from IC2's biomass? Also, would liquid construction foam be called Liquid Construction_Foam.png? Chocohead NagEditsStaff 14:11, 29 August 2014 (BST) Railcraft steam will also conflict with IC2's steam, so what ever happens to biomass would apply to steam too?

IIRC fluids should be done through tilesheets as well. At least, that's how Life Essence (Blood Magic) is done. -- Padfoote Staff • TalkContributions 15:03, 29 August 2014 (BST)
But for tanks they need to be separate. water will give you a tank of 1 bucket of water, using water from Liquid Water.png. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 15:23, 29 August 2014 (BST)
Uh, just like for page name clashes, add (Forestry) or (IndustrialCraft 2) to the name. This is all subject to change in the future of course, but for now this is the solution. Retep998 Bunny Overlord•talkcontribs 18:12, 29 August 2014 (BST)

Thanks, presume that the tile sheet bug is still there so it won't be updated? Chocohead NagAdditions 20:48, 4 August 2014 (BST)
It's not a tilesheet bug. The problem is that the IC2 and Botania tilesheets are so giant that they can't be updated without crashing the server, due to some config or something being messed up. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 22:36, 4 August 2014 (BST)
Ah, ok.The textures have just updated for me, so all is good :) Chocohead NagAdditions 23:03, 4 August 2014 (BST)

Tubestuff Textures[edit source]

https://www.mediafire.com/?lplgvyxk9fs7kyf <- I did the textures for Tubestuff :) Chocohead NagAdditions 23:44, 9 August 2014 (BST)

I processed them and Santa will upload them soon Retep998 Bunny Overlord•talkcontribs 23:51, 9 August 2014 (BST)
Cool, thanks :) Chocohead NagAdditions 00:34, 11 August 2014 (BST)
Can you upload them at some point? There's no rush to add them (like drop everything and add them), just I don't want to forget and make a second tilesheet for no reason. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 01:09, 18 August 2014 (BST)
Sorry, I've been lazy lately. I'll do it right now, hopefully with a few others as well. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 08:31, 18 August 2014 (BST)

Extrabiomes XL Textures[edit source]

General Formatting Question[edit source]

What does <br clear=all/> actually do? I'm pretty sure it's for clearing floating elements that could still be on the page, but how would they get there anyway? Chocohead NagEditsStaff 19:21, 27 September 2014 (BST)

I am not exactly sure, I just know that it gives a nice break between crafting templates and navbox templates. -- SatanicSantaContribs•Administrator and Editor 19:26, 27 September 2014 (BST)

Page Help[edit source]

What do pages about biomes need? Since ExtraBiomesXL has updated, and has a decent amount documented about it on it's Github wiki, I've decided I'll do it now. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 22:51, 11 October 2014 (BST)

A picture of the biome, brief description of features and appearance of it, any special attributes it has. Use Infobox biome. -- SatanicSantaContribs•Administrator and Editor 23:03, 11 October 2014 (BST)
What would I name the screenshots of the biomes when uploading them? Would it just be the biome name.png? Chocohead NagEditsStaff 23:20, 11 October 2014 (BST)
You can do <BiomeName>.png, or Biome_<BiomeName>.png (<BiomeName> = the biome's name), doesn't really matter which one. -- SatanicSantaContribs•Administrator and Editor 01:29, 12 October 2014 (BST)
I've started with them just being <BiomeName>.png, so guess I'll keep using that. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 01:48, 12 October 2014 (BST)

Next time don't put them into subfolders, but other than that, they seem fine. I'll do the stuff now, and if there are issues I will tell you. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 02:13, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

AE2 Tiles[edit source]

I got all the AE2 tiles I will need. Some have [AE2] prefixed at the start, or it could overlap with the AE1 names.

Ore Dictionary Blitz[edit source]

Moving away from what ever happened, when/are we ever going to blitz the ore dictionary list, now that Gregtech no longer adds majority of the entries (as well as other mods, but mainly Gregtech), and entries for things like TE2 machines don't exist any more? Chocohead NagEditsStaff 23:44, 12 August 2014 (BST)

I don't know. I'd talk to Retep about this. -- SatanicSantaTalkContribsAdmin 01:26, 13 August 2014 (BST)
I'll talk to him tomorrow. I've stayed up too late already. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 01:28, 13 August 2014 (BST)
All discussions of the ore dictionary and tilesheet systems should probably be with me, preferably on IRC. Retep998 Bunny Overlord•talkcontribs 04:58, 13 August 2014 (BST)

Nuclear Control Textures[edit source]

Please can you make a tilesheet for Nuclear Control? (Link for them) Could you update the GraviSuite ones too (link)? Chocohead NagEditsStaff 14:03, 21 September 2014 (BST)

Microblock Problems[edit source]

There's no way to really make a microblock tilesheet, but some Redpower items do use them. Is it ok to upload a few images like Grid_Iron_Strip.png to get around that but still use them in crafting grids? Chocohead NagEditsStaff 21:51, 17 October 2014 (BST)

Just put the ones that are used in the tilesheet. -- SatanicSantaContribs•Administrator and Editor 01:25, 18 October 2014 (BST)
OK then, how troublesome would it be to add like 4 more icons onto the Redpower tilesheet then? Chocohead NagEditsStaff 20:12, 18 October 2014 (BST)
Depends on how shitty the wiki is being. I use Retep's tilesheet code now. -- SatanicSantaContribs•Administrator and Editor 21:04, 18 October 2014 (BST)
There's the 5 extra icons - Link. Doubt 5 extra things to the end would be huge, so adding them on the end rather than shifting a lot of it down IMO would be the least likely way to screw up the wiki. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 21:20, 18 October 2014 (BST)
So long as you keep the existing tilesheet when using my code, it'll add new items to available spots without shifting existing items. However it doesn't tell you which entries it added, so you'll have to do a diff to figure out what changed. Retep998 Bunny Overlord•talkcontribs 01:28, 19 October 2014 (BST)

Tree things[edit source]

There are a lot of legacy tree images, such as
. Could you go and delete them all and move them into a proper tilesheet, and then modify the Yield Sappiness Fruits and Height pages to use the proper templates? 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 10:34, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
