This is what I've been all along \o/ -Xbony2 (talk) 10:52, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Sokratis13GR is an alt account of sokratis, btw. -Xbony2 (talk) 12:12, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
I didn't really pay attention to usernames -- SatanicSantaπŸŽ…FTB Wiki Admin 17:40, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Your research isn't that great, for a number of reasons-

  • You're measuring in edit number, quantity, not a combination of quality and quantity. A lot of the people at the top of the chart in edit count are translators, who can get, say, 10 edits for translating one page, which might be less effort than making one big page, which might only take 3 edits to complete.
  • Obviously we had a lot of a new accounts in early 2015. We just moved to Gamepedia. Maybe many people were moving over?
  • Most IP (and many regular users') contributions are things like simple spelling fixes and value adjustments after seeing an error. Is it really a surprise that they don't contribute again, with or without a welcome?

-Xbony2 (talk) 00:02, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

  • I'm not really sure how I'd quantify edit quality. We know that bytes or wikipoints are pretty shit ways of quantifying that.
  • I couldn't remember when we moved to Gamepedia. I figured that was the case, just wasn't sure.
  • I don't think that's true. Many of the contributions I saw were adding new or fixing wrong information, not fixing grammatical things.

As xbony brought up a good point, I want to draw your attention to the community portal. It is on page level 2 and is a highly visible page, it should be the landing page for all things that are related to contributing. The portal is linked on almost all style amboxes and it contains a list of simple tasks new editors can help out with. Another is the redlink messages, it is also a highly visible page, thus you should utilize it. -- 73.73.175.189 04:04, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
what exactly is your suggestion here? To make the community portal not suck? I agree. -- SatanicSantaπŸŽ…FTB Wiki Admin 04:12, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
I also want to ask about how the new user count works with the gamepedia system. Do people with curse accounts get automatically registered? Do people that registered on other wikis get registered automatically here? Because this might change the interpretation. -- 73.73.175.189 04:09, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
When people visit the wiki after logging in on any Gamepedia site (Gamepedia forums, another wiki, etc), they are automatically registered with this wiki. I don't think the Gamepedia and Curse accounts are the same... but I could be wrong there. -- SatanicSantaπŸŽ…FTB Wiki Admin 04:12, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
If you're registered on one Gamepedia you're registered on all Gampedias, as far as I am aware.
Anyway, there's not a easy way to quantify the full combination of edit quality and edit quality. That's kind of my point. And a very large amount of IPs that have edited were just applying a minor fix, whether it be a recipe fix, a grammar fix (that's what a majority of the IP edits to Immersive Engineering are \o/), or fixing incorrect/outdated information- stuff that's small and not worth registering or logging in to do, just "Hey, there's a little error there, I guess I'll fix it". -Xbony2 (talk) 11:17, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
no, you only get registered on the other Gamepedias if you actually visit them -- SatanicSantaπŸŽ…FTB Wiki Admin 17:49, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
Well, you aren't there and registered until you visit them, but visiting them doesn't count as creating a new account. If you and I go to https://nuclearthrone.gamepedia.com/Nuclear_Throne_Wiki, a wiki we probably haven't ever gone to until quite recently, we aren't going to be in the user creation log. We didn't create a new account, just kind of imported it, so if they made a chart to track new accounts (like us here) we would not be included. -Xbony2 (talk) 19:53, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
Oh, yep, you're right. -- SatanicSantaπŸŽ…FTB Wiki Admin 19:58, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

I'd personally suggest linking to the CBB so that people know they can add items on there. You should also just wipe the CBB :P the current news section is also pretty pointless now that I think of it {{}} -- 73.73.175.189 06:09, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

oh and for the h2 tags on CP if you still plan on using them:

margin: 0.3em;
width: 100%; (I think this one was on me haha)
padding-top: 0.17em;
