The Arcane Lamp is a block added by Thaumcraft 5. It is an advanced source of light, and it is used to create the Lamp of Growth and the Lamp of Fertility.
The Arcane Lamp's light will cover about 16 blocks in each direction. Applying a Redstone signal to Arcane Lamps will turn it off.

This mystical lamp can be attached to walls, floors or ceilings and will provide strong and steady light.
Additional sources of light may also appear up to 16 blocks away wherever light levels fall below accepted 'safe' levels. Remember: Only YOU can prevent zombie outbreaks.
These secondary sources of light will disappear soon after the lamp has been removed.
The lamp can be turned off by applying a redstone signal.
