The Backpack is a storage item added by CompactStorage. It has the same size as a normal Chest when crafted, but can be upgraded using the Storage Column Upgrade and the Storage Row Upgrade. The biggest backpack has 12 rows and 24 column of slots.
Previously, in versions prior to 3.0, the Backpack is created using the Builder.
