The Diesel Generator is a 3x5x3 multi-block added by Immersive Engineering. It is used to create Redstone Flux (RF) from Biodiesel and Fuel.

The Diesel Generator is relatively simple to make. It uses 13 Heavy Engineering Blocks, 9 Radiator Blocks, 6 Steel Scaffoldings, 5 Fluid Pipes, 4 Generator Blocks and 1 Redstone Engineering Block. The Redstone Engineering Block can be placed on either side by swapping it with the Heavy Engineering Block opposite it; this will produce a finished generator with a redstone port on the other side.







































After it is fully arranged, the player must right-click the top-center block of the front side (which should be a Generator Block) with an Engineer's Hammer, then the multi-block is complete.

The Diesel Generator is relatively simple to make. It uses 9 Radiators, 6 Generator Blocks and 27 Heavy Engineering Blocks total.











































After it is fully arranged, the player must right-click the top-center block of the front side (which should be a Generator Block) with an Engineer's Hammer, then the multi-block is complete.

The Diesel Generator does not have a GUI. Fuel is entered through the rightmost-bottommost blocks of the longer sides of the multi-block. RF is output through the top of the three frontmost blocks (each has a small Copper-looking dot on them). The multi-block's processes can be halted via Redstone through the "control panel", the center block of the right-side.

The Diesel Generator has an (invisible) internal fluid buffer of 24000mB, which is enough to make 12,288,000 RF over 150 seconds. It does not have an internal energy buffer. It will automatically shut off if it cannot export power.

Burning 1000 mB (One Bucket) of Biodiesel will cause the Diesel Generator to make 4096 RF/t for 6.25 seconds, and (BuildCraft) Fuel for 18.75 seconds.

1000mB of Biodiesel will produce 512,000 RF over the course of the burn time (4096RF/t * 20 t/sec * 6.25 sec = 512,000 RF).

1000mB of BC Fuel will produce 1,536,000 RF over the course of the burn time (4096RF/t * 20 t/sec * 18.75 sec = 1,536,000 RF).

For the Diesel Generator to produce continually at full power, it needs 160mB of Biodiesel per second, which equates to 1 Wheat, Pumpkin, or Melon Seed in an Industrial Squeezer and 1 Sugar Cane, melon, or Apple in a Fermenter per second (although 2 Industrial Hemp Seeds could be used every 3 seconds in place of the other seeds).

For an efficient Diesel Generator setup, one Refinery, two Industrial Squeezers and two Industrial Fermenters per two Diesel Generators is required.

Also note that the Refinery produces enough Biodiesel at maximum capacity to supply two Diesel Generators.

When the Diesel Generator processes, it makes a fairly significant amount of noise.

Fuel Optimization[(editsection)(pipe-separator)(visualeditor-ca-editsource-section)]

Diesel generator does not check whether network/attached battery actually needs power or not - "it just runs". In order to conserve fuel prevent generating energy when not needed, e.g.:

  • attach HV Capacitor to the generator output,
  • set up redstone control circuit preventing battery from ever becoming full
    • Redstone Comparator attached to the capacitor will output signal according to its charge.
    • Disable generator using redstone signal.
