Timeline[]

Can we actually have the timeline working again so that the text actually shows up on it? :P Chocohead NagEditsStaff 20:11, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

I reported it to Gamepedia people a while ago -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 20:34, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Update[]

I think someone should update the translation staff, and mark certain ones as inactive, like Andrejsavikin who hasn't done anything in half a year. Xbony2 (talk) 16:34, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Done. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 19:25, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
Now it looks kind of sad. We need new translators, lol. Xbony2 (talk) 22:04, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
I can translate into British English (en-gb) :P Chocohead NagEditsStaff 00:22, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
Go ahead bro. How much different British English is from Merica' English tho? All I know is chips are different things. Xbony2 (talk) 00:26, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
I'll gladly join the team for en_GB and en_PI (English - Pirate for those unacquainted) XD. Also Xbony2 there is a few minor changes; mostly relating to slight differences in spelling. Wolfman_123_Wiki Staff · (Talk) 01:21, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
Now that I’m translating articles and templates to Russian (since January 13), can someone add me to the Russian translation project timeline? Nick the Red37 Russian Minecraft Wiki mod (talk) 16:54, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
Retep? Paladin? Xbony? Nick the Red37 Russian Minecraft Wiki mod (talk) 10:45, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Nobody has been updating the timeline at all lately. For whatever reason it is actually broken and doesn't seem to render any names. Once the timeline extension is fixed, someone will fill in all the missing information such as staff member changes and translation people. 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 10:52, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Another thing, Neither Paladin or Xbony (or me) could do anything even if they wanted to, as only admins can actually edit the page. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 16:01, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Then, why this says the staff members can edit protected pages? Nick the Red37 Russian Minecraft Wiki mod (talk) 17:24, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Because there's 2 levels of protection:
Community - All staff members can edit, but normal users can only view source
Sysop - Only Retep998 and TheSatanicSanta can edit those pages. The curse staff I expect can too, but they are on very infrequently.
Retep and Santa are the only ones who can set the protection on pages too.
Chocohead NagEditsStaff 17:31, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
@NickTheRed37: The Timeline is for staff members, not users. I will add you to the Translation project thingy though. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 23:31, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Never mind, it seems someone has already done that :) -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 23:32, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Now the timeline looks correct, at least for me. P. S. I added myself to the translators table myself. — Agent Nick the Red37 tcru.MCW user 17:28, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
Retep998? — Agent Nick the Red37 tcru.MCW user 13:56, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
The timeline is used to list people who are staff members that have been voted in. While anyone is free to translate articles, if you want to be a translation staff member and thus on the timeline, then you'll have to create an application at Feed_The_Beast_Wiki:Staff's_Noticeboard/Staff_applications. If your application is accepted, then I'll add you to the timeline. 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 14:35, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
I’m not a member of the FTB forum, plus I also don’t have even Minecraft, let alone any of FTB mods or mod packs (except .jar files for Blood Magic, Witchery, IndustrialCraft 2 and GregTech, but only to get textures from). — Agent Nick the Red37 tcru.MCW user 16:38, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Retep998? — Agent Nick the Red37 tcru.MCW user 16:52, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
You don't have to be part of the FTB forum, its just that if someone is on the FTB forums we need to know their name so we can give them the proper titles and stuff. 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 00:00, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

0 Editors[]

Should anybody with zero edits really get credit? No offense or anything, but it looks like they didn't really do anything. It might be a glitch with the recent Curse integration though. Xbony2 (talk) 23:34, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

There were people who didn't do anything, and just disappeared. Guess crediting them doesn't hurt, at least they said they'd help over the thousands who won't even do that. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 23:51, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
This actually goes back to pre-Curse. Back in the day, translators could not actually translate directly on the wiki. I believe this is true for some editors. There's also the chance that we are getting their usernames wrong, but we can't know for sure because they don't hang around anymore. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 01:25, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Luxim[]

I think it's safe to mark Luxim and the french project as inactive. He hasn't done any translating in a month.

Btw, maybe a certain time period could be set to determine if a member has been inactive. I suggest a month. -Xbony2 (talk) 11:48, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

Names[]

Many of the names/links are broken. Here is a list:

LEARN HOW TO USE NUMBERS! :P

There's probably more, but I'm lazy.

Update[]

TheSatanicSanta Retep998 : This page needs to be updated. For one thing my bot (and Nick's bot) aren't included. For another thing, there are members such as Auris331 and Andrejsavikin who haven't contributed for like a year, and thus should be considered retired (if they come back, which would be great btw, they can always re-apply as official translators). For a last thing, it would be nice to note in the "Former Translators" section that many of the translators have 0 edits due to the fact that translations used to be done externally- it's not that they didn't do anything.

Oh, and did you guys miss the Names section? That's kind of important.

Stuff like this makes me really want to apply for full admin sooner then later. I've been wanting to wait for the end of the year to accumulate more knowledge on things like CSS and PHP... but Retep is genuinely unreliable for everything, and Santa is often in-and-out... it drivers me a little bit bonkers sometimes >.> How can I apply anyway? How did you guys apply? I've looked through much of the wiki, but I cannot find any old votes or anything. -Xbony2 (talk) 21:42, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

CSS is easy. PHP less so. Pretty sure Retep and Santa applied back when Jinbobo was leading the wiki, there's no figure head in the same way anymore. You have a point though with them both doing other stuff instead of wiki-ing. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 22:43, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
To be honest I figure I can do better with PHP then CSS :P I'm bad at making things look nice. -Xbony2 (talk) 23:40, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
You don't need to be an admin to write PHP. You can just setup a test mediawiki instance locally, work on the extensions, and submit pull requests. There's a lot of stuff we'd really like implemented but nobody can into PHP long enough. 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 00:37, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
I don't remember either of us applying. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 00:13, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
Pretty sure we both just rose up in the power vacuum that came up when Jinbobo left. 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 00:37, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
I haven’t been lucky enough to have a chance to do something that would require bots yet. And also note that I use Pywikibot with unmodified core that is not adapted to take User:JARVISTheBot/Status into account, so the only way to forcibly halt it is to block it. — NickTheRed37 t/c FTBWiki Translator 17:41, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
My bad, I was wrong regarding /Status... thanks Santa for correcting me. — NickTheRed37 t/c FTBWiki Translator 12:37, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

Location[]

This page is about the structure of the wiki itself, not anything from a mod. As such, it should probably be moved out of the Main namespace and into the Project namespace. -PaladinAHOne Staff (talk) 21:09, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

*sigh*. WP:BOLD -PaladinAHOne Staff (talk) 00:29, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
Goddamit why is this page protected -PaladinAHOne Staff (talk) 00:30, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
I'll handle it tonight after I right a script to safely move things without having to manually update a million pages. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 01:54, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

Captainnana and Rob[]

I think we talked about this before, but they don't make much sense on this list. They could be consider wiki staff when they hosted the wiki or did CSS/extensions/whatnot for it, but this is no longer the case and has no longer been the case for a long time; they are FTB Staff, not FTB Wiki Staff, and we don't list FTB Staff. -Xbony2 (talk) 14:39, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

meh -- SatanicSanta🎅FTB Wiki Admin 18:50, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

A timeline again[]

Can we have something like this again or is there a problem with it? The timeline is informative for some cases, I think. --Sven79HD (talk) 18:40, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

Move to appropriate location[]

This page was originally moved from ftbw:FTB Wiki Staff to its current page title of FTB Wiki Roles. Since this page is already in the project namespace, I believe moving the page to just ftbw:Roles will better suit the page and its contents, along with fixing the double redirect of course. -- SizableShrimp🦐 (talk · contribs) 04:06, 15 September 2020 (UTC)

i guess. honestly im pretty meh on this page in general, it's seemed less relevant and dated ever since the end of official "staff" -Xbony2 (talk) 04:02, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
