Fertilizer

ModForestry
TypeItem

Fertilizer is an item added by Forestry. It is a non-renewable type of fertilizer made from Apatite and Sand. Its primary uses are to enable the Fermenter to run so it can create Biomass and within Forestry Multi-block Farms, as well as crafting Humus.

Recipe[(editsection)(pipe-separator)(visualeditor-ca-editsource-section)]

Usage[(editsection)(pipe-separator)(visualeditor-ca-editsource-section)]

Fertilizer is one of three potential materials used in Forestry to enable Fermenters to run. It allows the Fermenter to produce all possible liquid outputs, including Biomass and Short Mead. While it does not have an indefinite lifespan in the machine, it is not used up at the same rate as the reagents (ie Saplings and Fruit Juice), and therefore a stack will last quite a while before needing to be replaced.

It is also used to enable Forestry Multi-block Farms to run and is used in a similar manner to the Fermenter.

Fertilizer is also an ingredient in the creation of Humus.

As of mod versions in Minecraft 1.5.2 and later, Fertilizer may be used to grow plants in a similar manner to Bone Meal.

Alternatives[(editsection)(pipe-separator)(visualeditor-ca-editsource-section)]

Due to the primary ingredient in the recipe, Apatite, only being created through Worldgen, Fertilizer is non-renewable. Mulch and Compost can be used as renewable alternatives.
