TypeMechanic

The Jetpack is a group of chestplate-armors added by Simply Jetpacks.

Holding the jump key (default is Space) with a Jetpack equipped will lift the user. Most Jetpacks require Redstone Flux (RF) to be used, although the Combustion Jetpack requires BuildCraft Fuel. Different Jetpacks use different amounts of fuel, different amounts of fuel storage, different speeds and different default particles.

Hover mode[]

When wearing a Jetpack, "Hover Mode" can be activated by clicking the "Toggle Hover Mode" key (N per default). In Hover Mode, the Jetpack will cause the slow descent of the user, which can be sped up by pressing Shift. Flying up with Hover Mode activated with also be fairly slow. This feature is created with safety purposes in mind.

"Emergency Hover Mode" is a feature of Tier 3+ Jetpacks (with the exception of the Kinetic Jetpack, which is Tier 2). When free-falling a dangerous distance, the message "User is about to die! Activating hover mode" will appear, and the Jetpack will automatically convert into Hover Mode within a few block of the ground/void.

Numbers[]

Different Jetpack have different stats. Each Jetpack has a Tier; each Tier is considered superior to the Tier before, and inferior to the Tier after. Higher Tiers usually have higher speeds and Fuel Capacities, although they require more fuel and are more expensive.
