The Lightning Rod attracts lightning strikes from storms to convert into RF power. One lightning strike provides 10,000 RF (configurable), and it holds a maximum of 30,000 RF. Power my be extracted from the sides or the bottom.

Rather than generate power only when hit by vanilla lightning, which would be an extremely rare event, the lightning rod instead simulates vanilla behaviour. much like MFR's Laser Drill only simulates mining ores. During a storm, if the rod can see the sky, the rod has a 1/3000 (configurable) chance every tick of causing a lightning strike. The rare event of a vanilla lightning bolt will also generate power.
