Ore Gravel is a block added by Ex Nihilo. There are 10 types of Ore Gravel: Aluminum, Copper, Gold, Iron, Lead, Nickel, Osmium, Platinum, Silver, and Tin. Some types of Ore Gravel have Ender and Nether variations.
The Ex Astris mod also adds Ardite, Cobalt, and Draconium versions of Ore Gravel.
Obtaining[]
Ore Gravel can be crafted from Broken Ore.
Usage[]
The primary purpose of Ore Gravel is to serve as an intermediary step where work with a Hammer results in greater eventual metal production.
- Ore Gravel is hammered into Crushed Ore, with a chance to drop more than four per block.
- Crushed Ore is crafted into Ore Sand.
- Ore Sand is hammered into Powdered Ore, again with a chance to drop more than four per block.
- Powdered Ore is crafted into Ore Dust for final smelting (and a Pulverizer or Tinkers' Construct Smeltery can double the ingots produced from smelting Ore Sand).
Ore Gravels are gravity blocks — if placed in the world without a supporting block, they fall like Gravel.
Hammer[]
Ore Gravel (Such as Tin Gravel and Iron Gravel) can be mined with a Hammer to produce Crushed Ore. Each Ore Gravel always drops four Crushed Ore, has a 50% chance to drop a fifth Crushed Ore (60% with luck bonus), a 5% chance to drop a sixth Crushed Ore (15% with luck bonus), and a 0% chance to drop a seventh Crushed Ore (5% with luck bonus).
Furnace[]
Ore Gravel can be smelted into ingots.
Redstone Furnace[]
Ore Gravel can be smelted into ingots.
Thermal Foundation[]
Some Ore Gravel can be processed into metal dusts in a Pulverizer. Where secondary outputs exist, the probability is 10%.
Tinkers' Construct[]
Ore Gravel can be smelted in a Tinkers' Construct Smeltery to produce 288 mB of Molten Metal of the appropriate type (enough to produce two ingots of metal).
Recipe[]
Ore Gravel can be crafted into Broken Ore (but the only thing you can do with the Broken Ore is craft it back into Ore Gravel).
