| Pickaxe of the Core
By infusing a thaumium pickaxe with the elemental fire contained in a wand of fire, you have created a pickaxe that glows with the heat of a forge. When you mine ore blocks there is a chance you will mine a cluster of native ore instead. Native ore is much easier to process and produces double the amount of metal when smelted. The pickaxe can also be used to sound out any surface you right click against to find out what the highest value aspect is that can be found within a limited area in that direction. If shift is held while using this tool all its special properties are suspended and it functions like a normal pickaxe. | |

The Pickaxe of the Core is an elemental tool added by Thaumcraft 3. It has durability and speed similar to the vanilla Diamond Pickaxe, however when used to mine ore blocks there is a small chance that the block will yield a Native Ore Cluster which can be smelted into two Ingots of the appropriate type.
A "tingle" sound effect, similar to the sound made when picking up an Experience Points Ball will sound upon breaking an ore block that yields a Native Ore Cluster.
Right-clicking with the Pickaxe of the Core will cause targeted block to search blocks behind it depending on the face targeted for the highest aspect contained in a block within range. The result will show as a floating aspect icon, visible when hovering the crosshair over your targeted block unless broken.
Sneaking while breaking a block will cause the pickaxe to lose it's special attributes and act as a normal pickaxe.
The Wand of Fire must be researched before the player can unlock the ability to research the Pickaxe of the Core.

Usage[]
The Pickaxe of the Core has a chance to yield a Native Ore Cluster respective to the ore block broken. Enchanting the pickaxe with Fortune will increase the chance of yielding a cluster up to 75% depending on the level of Enchantment.
Right-clicking with the pickaxe when targeting a block will search up to seven blocks behind the targeted block for that which yields the highest aspect.
Sneaking while breaking a block causes the pickaxe to act normally with no special qualities.
Pickaxe holds enchantments well as a Thaumium tool.
