The Recycler is a processing machine from GregTech 5. It works very similarly to the IndustrialCraft 2 Recycler. Just like the IndustrialCraft 2 Recycler, some items are blacklisted, such as Snowballs and Glass Panes due to the ease with which the players can gather these items.

Recipe

Like every electric machine in GregTech 5, the Recycler comes in 5 variants, one for each voltage from Low to Insane.

Blacklisted items

When a blacklisted item is supplied to the GregTech 5 Recycler, the item is still consumed but produces no scraps. Exactly what items are blacklisted is configured via config files. Here is a list of items that are possibly blacklisted:

Anything blacklisted by the IndustrialCraft 2 Recycler
The configuration items are recyclerBlacklist and recyclerWhitelist in IC2.ini. Glass Panes, Sticks, Snowballs, Snow, Snow Blocks, Industrial Craft 2 Scaffolds are blacklisted by default.
Any GregTech 5 items which doesn't contain at least 1 unit of recyclable materials
This means nuggets or sticks of any metals, and small or tiny pile of any dusts are always blacklisted regardless of configuration. In addition, materials with a tag NO_RECYCLING (see GregTech/MaterialProperties.cfg) are not counted towards the 1 unit threshold. Sand, Stone, Water, Ice, Snow, and Glass have the tag by default. Note that this only applies to GregTech 5 items such as Glass Dust but not to vanilla items.
Common mob drops
When easymobgrinderrecycling in GregTech/Recipes.cfg is set to true (it's true by default), certain mob drops and their derivatives are blacklisted. This includes Arrows, Bones, Bone Meal, Rotten Flesh, Strings, and Eggs.
Stone and its derivatives
When easystonerecycling in GregTech/Recipes.cfg is set to true (it's true by default), any items that are derived from stone are blacklisted. This includes Cobblestone and its compressed forms, Gravel, Flint, Cobblestone Walls, Cobblestone Stairs, Stone Stairs, Stone Brick Stairs, anything produced by smelting Stone, or anything crafted entirely of Glass, Stone, Cobblestone, Sandstone, or Sand.
