The Scanner is a machine from GregTech 5. It can be used to scan IC2 Seed Bags, requiring much less energy than the Cropnalyzer. If Forestry is installed, it can be used in place of the Analyzer. The Scanner only uses 50L of Honey per scan and 1000EU for the LV version, unlike the Analyzer, which requires 100L and no energy.
The Scanner is also a fundamental machine for GregTech's UU-Matter Production. Its purpose is to scan an ingot or cell of the material one wants to duplicate, to gather data that has to be transferred on a Data Orb, which has to be placed in the slot in the lower right. The Data Orb will be later used in the GT Replicator. Only pure elements can be scanned and replicated. The scanning requires a remarkable amount of time, which means that the heavier elements will take days of real time to complete the process. The scanned item is always destroyed in the process.

Like every electric machine in GregTech 5, the Scanner comes in 5 variants, one for each voltage from Low to Insane.
