The Shutter Cover is a machine cover added by GregTech 6 that allows fluid and item pipes to be connected and disconnected without the use of a Wrench. Unlike in previous versions, the Shutter can no longer be used to force fluids to flow in only one direction; a Compact Electric Pump must be used for this purpose.
Initially, installing a Shutter has no effect on the pipe. A Cover Controller Cover may be installed on the same pipe as the Shutter to allow the Shutter to connect and disconnect the pipe in response to Redstone signals sent to the Controller. A Screwdriver may be used on the Shutter and/or the Controller to invert its behavior. For example, a pipe may be configured to connect to the North when a signal is applied, and to the South in the absence of a signal, by attaching two Shutters and a Controller to the pipe and using a Screwdriver on only one of the Shutters.
