The Steam Turbine is a generator from GregTech 5 used to convert Steam into EU. The conversion rate is 2 liters of steam to 1 EU, however the steam turbine is not 100% efficient and there will be some loss. For example, the Basic Steam Turbine has an efficiency rate of 66%, so 2 / 66% means it actually consumes 3 liters of steam per EU.
The efficiency of a Steam Turbine is equal to 2 / (tier + 2).
A steam turbine explodes upon contact with rain (even if it rain is within a radius of 1 block from the turbine). Using a roof over this generator is recommended.
