FTB Infinity

Where do I go to see my java storage because I can't run FTB Infinity -- Preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.185.20.106 (talkcontribs)

Ars Magica Neutral Essence (Not Working)

I'm trying to create a self-regeneration spell from Ars Magica 2, however, when i get to the (Neutral) Essense part, I can't get the 500 that is needed. I've create obelisks, paired it to the crafting altar, but just nothing happens. I can't get past this step and I've spent numerous hours trying to research a tutorial (which there is none). Anybody care to help? -- Preceding unsigned comment was added by Dragonpro822 (talkcontribs)

Unfortunately, no one active on the wiki knows much about AM2 (as far as I know). It would probably be best to ask somewhere else, like on the FTB Reddit or Forums :) Xbony2 (talk) 22:36, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
That isn't entirely true as I have a general knowledge. I agree with xbony2 that it is probably best to try asking this question on the feedthebeast subreddit or on the FTB Forums; however there is several factors which could contribute to essence not being sent to a crafting altar, which is very difficult to narrow down without a picture of your AM2 setup.
Although if I were to take a general guess based on the most common issue: once the essence is linked to the altar and it has sufficient power, you simply have to pull the lever on the side of the crafting altar which should begin the transfer of essence. --Wolfman_123_ · FTB Wiki Staff 00:03, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Question about non-FTB mods

Hello. I like your wiki. :) I just came to ask: why do you allow non-FTB mods on this wiki? -- Preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.26.109.181 (talkcontribs)

Because so many mods have been in packs hosted on the FTB launcher, that it doesn't really make sense to discriminate on that aspect. Plus there isn't really a good place for modded Minecraft in general, so just extending the scope of this wiki a bit to cover all mods and not just FTB mods isn't asking too much and helps out the community. 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 03:09, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
But the FTB mods are a general priority here. I think we may want to create a specific “non-FTB mod documentation department” of the editorial staff on that end. As well as directing general wiki questions from here to a more dedicated talk page, so this one can be used for discussing the actual main page. — NickTheRed37 t/c FTBWiki Translator 14:31, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
It's a lot of effort to go through every mod to see if it's in any FTB pack, then if they're not, stick them in the "they shouldn't really be here but are because we can" category to achieve nothing more than to see how many other mods we have than we strictly need. The current system of just being a modded wiki that happens to have been created for FTB Packs works well enough, without having a separate section for editors that choose to contribute more widely than what FTB currently uses. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 16:24, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
What Choco said. Plus, chances are that each mod that is worth one of us making a page about has been put in a pack, even a third party pack, at least once. -Xbony2 (talk) 16:45, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

Wow. You suprized me by replying so quickly, thanks. :) Back to topic: So you say that you allow non-ftb mods here because it's too much of an effort to remove all the others, and it would be a waste to erase all the work that goes into documenting them? And that people document other mods here because there isn't a good central place for all mods? 98.26.109.181 00:17, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

Well, this IS a good central place for all mods to document their stuff (in our professional opinions, or at least mine). Although the wiki is made for mods in FTB, it's been a wiki for all mods for a long time. -Xbony2 (talk) 00:53, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

If so, do you think it would be a good idea to rename this wiki to Minecraft Mod Wiki, or something similar? 98.26.109.181 01:51, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

no, it would cause confusion related to our affiliation with ftb. Also, staff shouldn't be focusing on nonftb mods, that's a community thing -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 03:18, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
Well, if we create our own mods we can focus on them. -Xbony2 (talk) 11:42, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
at that point you are a special kind of staff that is not effected by this rule. That's a special case/loophole. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 19:37, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
You little totalitarian. Who said that this is the case? — NickTheRed37 t/c FTBWiki Translator 15:33, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
It's been the case forever pretty much. I do not consider it something unreasonable, or needing vote. -Xbony2, Master of Feed The Beast Wiki (talk) 22:13, 17 September 2015 (UTC)

New question

Hello again. Why do you call yourself the official FTB wiki? What's your affiliation with them, if any? (Also, do you have some sort of a Frequently Asked Questions page? I feel like that would probably have been answered there, but I couldn't see a FAQ page.) 98.26.109.181 14:20, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

The FTB Team encourages users to use this wiki for information, and this where the forums, website, etc, links. Some of the members of the FTB Team were part of the wiki at some point or another. Other then that, there's not a huge affiliation- I, and most other staff, don't communicate with the main FTB Team really at all. -Xbony2, Master of Feed The Beast Wiki (talk) 14:38, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
that's only recently. We used to be involved in every ftb team meeting, but stopped because it was rarely relevant to us. Now slow or someone just tells one of us (usually me) about changes that need to be made, or whatever. To the op, we are a sub group of the core ftb team. We may want to get an FAQ page or something -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 18:26, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
Fun facts: Gideon was part of the wiki for a period of time, and was considered for wiki staff, although his edits were too noob-ish so he got rejected :P Chaka aka Christophernjsp who is currently part of the third part pack team was a German/Swedish translator and editor (he was rejected for wiki staff as well for noob-ish edits). Padfoote, who is currently a forum moderator, part of the main team and the Phoenix Team, was part of the wiki staff until he retired (which was a few months after I joined). Nerixel aka AgentTadpole was part of the wiki too (although he's retired from everything right now :P) -Xbony2, Master of Feed The Beast Wiki (talk) 21:14, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
Offtopic, but Santa, a little angel (actually just a voice in my head) told me to tell you that the Tagalog translation of your page isn't finished :P -Xbony2, Master of Feed The Beast Wiki (talk)
Oh cool I was mentioned. Anyways. How's it going? It would be awesome if the wiki was officially supported by the FTB core team. I say we start a petition to make it official (Even though it kind of is). I know slow was originally against having a wiki. I don't know where he stands at this point. -- Chaka·FTB Team 22:33, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
Um, it is pretty much? -Xbony2, Master of Feed The Beast Wiki and Spammer of Recent Changes (talk) 22:47, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
I'm going to go back and finish the t Tagalog translations that I never finished soon, as well as adding mga tuldík to the things that need them. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 17:21, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

Unnamed question

Hello, my name is Connor. I am running my own Regrowth Server and when I test the server on that computer, I can log-in just fine. Although when I try to log in on my actual playing computer, I get the message above. (In the picture above.) i have tried deleting all of my Regrowth files on my computer and having to re-download the pack, but still coming to the sad conclusion of it not working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You -Connor -- Preceding unsigned comment was added by ConnorVille99 (talkcontribs)

Please ask FTB tech support. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 04:12, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
I swear at one point we had a template for this purpose which just directed people to the tech support website and IRC. I should do some digging or make it. --Wolfman_123_ · FTB Wiki Staff 03:29, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

Twitch Launcher

This page seems to refer to the FTB Launcher as the choice method of launching and playing FTB. Hasn't this been superseded by the Twitch (formerly curse) app? I think this information would be useful to new players. Andyglover (talk) 15:21, 18 June 2017 (UTC)

Yes, it needs to be updated. -- SatanicSanta🎅FTB Wiki Admin 15:24, 18 June 2017 (UTC)
