The Transformer is a machine added by GregTech 6 that converts voltage or Energy Units (EU).

Usage[]
The Transformer has 1 input side and 5 output sides. The input side is defined as the side that interacts with a higher voltage while the output sides are the sides that interact with a lower voltage. It has two operational modes: Normal and Reversed. The mode can be changed by right-clicking it with a Monkey Wrench. Transformers in normal mode emit lower EU voltage, and in reversed mode emit higher EU voltage.
Behavior[]
The Transformer has a small internal EU buffer, whose size equals to their maximum input voltage; i.e., LV-MV transformers accepting up to 256 EU/t have an internal buffer of 256 EU. In normal mode, the Transformer will try to emit up to 4 EU packets (i.e., 4 amperes) per tick through its output sides whose voltage equals to a quarter of the amount of EU stored internally. For example, when an LV-MV Transformer is fully charged, it is capable of emitting up to 4 packets of 64 EU. A transformer in this mode can accept arbitrary many EU packets (i.e., no limits on the amperage) through its input side every tick until its internal buffer becomes full. Packets it receives will be used for charging the buffer.
When the Transformer is in reversed mode, it will try to emit up to 1 EU packet through their input side whose voltage equals to the amount of EU stored internally. For example, when an LV-MV Transformer is fully charged, it is capable of emitting up to 1 packet of 256 EU. A Transformer in this mode can accept arbitrary many EU packets through its output sides every tick, until its internal buffer becomes full.
