Welcome to the FTB Wiki[]
Hello RealSketch, welcome to the FTB Wiki. When making edits please be sure to include an edit summary. Edit summaries are helpful for people trying to view an article's history. Thank you, -- SatanicSantaStaff•talk•SysOp 00:28, 19 February 2014 (GMT)
- There are a couple things I need to let you know. First, this is the second time that I have told you to use Edit Summaries; please do so. Secondly, all pages must include an infobox, as stated in the Article Creation Guideline, "Creating articles without infoboxes when needed will always result in a warning. Repeated violations will result in a block." I recommend reading that to avoid future warnings (yes, this is a warning). -- SatanicSantaSysOp•talk 00:04, 8 March 2014 (GMT)
- I just realized I should probably tell you which page I am talking about; your edits on Dye Trees violated terms. -- SatanicSantaSysOp•talk 00:05, 8 March 2014 (GMT)
- Wow! I am really forgetful right now! I must be tired... You also forgot to include Categories, and a Langbar, these are required parts of all articles. -- SatanicSantaSysOp•talk 00:07, 8 March 2014 (GMT)
- Hi SatanicSanta, sorry I haven't been replying, I'm finding wiki code just a bit difficult. I really do want to help but I need to take a tutorial on this stuff. :) - RealSketch (talk) 19:36, 18 April 2014 (BST)RealSketch

Adv Genetics tiles[]
Hey, so could you get me the Advanced Genetics images? Follow the image uploading guideline for how to get them. -- SatanicSantaAdmin•Editor 18:30, 13 June 2014 (BST)
I'll try, still fairly new. But I'm sure I'll be fine. :) --RealSketch (talk) 18:34, 13 June 2014 (BST)RealSketch
I've got the items done, the blocks I'll get done hopefully soon. --SNIP-- --RealSketch (talk) 18:42, 13 June 2014 (BST)RealSketch
Tilesheet is done. You'll be able to see it when either clear your caches/cookies, or hard refresh. -- SatanicSantaAdmin•Editor 06:07, 15 June 2014 (BST)

Are you interested in joining the team? -- SatanicSantaAdmin•Editor 22:45, 14 June 2014 (BST)
Wow, so soon?! Before I say anything, do you truly believe I know enough WikiMarkup, information about mods and how to use the Wiki? --RealSketch (talk) 22:50, 14 June 2014 (BST)RealSketch
- Yeah. You know just about as much as Padfoote. If you have any questions just ask me or Retep. Hell, I'm still learning how to use the OreDict and Translation Extensions. -- SatanicSantaAdmin•Editor 01:35, 15 June 2014 (BST)
Just a hint[]
By the way, you don't need to do [[Thing|Things]]. You can just do [[Thing]]s, and it will work the same way. I find it to be slightly easier and quicker, and will also save a few bytes on the server, I mean, we still have like 15GB of space left IIRC, but still :P -- SatanicSantaAdmin•Editor 19:02, 17 June 2014 (BST)
Will do. :) --RealSketch (talk) 19:06, 17 June 2014 (BST)RealSketch

Question[]
What do you capitalise and what don't you? Some pages it's nouns, others it's links, and in some nothing is. Is there any definite policy? Chocohead Nag• Contributions 22:53, 24 June 2014 (BST)
- Blocks, items and official names all need capitals, and of course, users should use proper grammar when writing. Whatever the mod author names the item or block is what we name it. Non key-words are an exception in some cases though.
- About the nouns, links etc.
- It all comes down to the user. I for one capitalize all words in a section header, but others may just capitalize it like a sentence, as long as the information is correct and appropriate, then it's fine.
- As far as I know, there is no specific policy for capitalization, though guidelines on headings and articles can be found on the Manual of Style.
- Hope I cleared some things up for you. :)
- -- RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 23:06, 24 June 2014 (BST)
- The way I handle things is by going with standard English grammar rules. The exception being for links, blocks, items, entities, mods, etc, where I will capitalize them to help make them stand out (and because OCD). Hope this helps. -- Padfoote Staff • Talk • Contributions 02:15, 25 June 2014 (BST)
- Okay, here's the actual answer. Links should be capitalized if they are the title of an article, item, block, etc. Sections should be capitalized as if they were in a sentence, unless it is a quote of something else. Article titles should be capitalized as if they are a title, or whatever the exact in-game name is (seems obvious, and I'm changing the MOS right now because it says the wrong thing, and the article title of itself breaks that rule. I can't honestly think of an article that follows that rule). Don't un-capitalize a link unless you are changing the name of it (for example, you wouldn't say railcraft in a sentence, but you would say the mod that expands on rail functionality). -- SatanicSantaTalk•Contribs 02:38, 25 June 2014 (BST)

- What they said, Santa's word is admin, Padfoote's is much more experienced than mine and mine is just sketchy.
- -- RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 18:59, 25 June 2014 (BST)
We use sentence case for titles and headings because how linking works. In-game item names and proper nouns should retain their case. Existing pages does not need to be fixed unless when moving them. --

Soo, could you help?[]
Yeah, I decided to give EIO a shot again. However, I have no clue how to change the background to clear. Could you do this and then post it on my talk page? I'll toss it to Santa after that. Here are the pics I took. (Download link)
- Yep, I don't mind getting the backgrounds done. But you did a few things incorrectly.
- The tiles should be 32x32 pixels, that's just the inventory slot size without the gray shadow on the top left, so remove that shadow and have the block/item in the centre. You only need the gray area with the resource in the middle, cut out any white or black lines around it and it should leave you with 32x32p.
- The names need to be exactly what they are called in game, you can edit these later if you really need to.
- Yep, I don't mind getting the backgrounds done. But you did a few things incorrectly.
- Once you've done that, resend them to me and I'll get all the backgrounds done. :)
- -- RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 19:46, 26 June 2014 (BST)
- Eh, I'm fine with removing the backgrounds myself. My only request is that you (trajing) rename the files to be their exact in-game name. -- SatanicSantaTalk•Contribs•Admin 22:05, 26 June 2014 (BST)
- Santa is free to do it, though "I want him to add additional tiles" to ABO. Now I can start learning some Botania! --RealSketch •Purple Dragon •Staff •Talk •Contributions 22:08, 26 June 2014 (BST)

I want to add Immibis's Advanced Machines to the wiki, but with Atomic Striker's conveniently named the same thing, what should I do? Chocohead Nag• Contributions 20:13, 26 June 2014 (BST)
- Advanced Machines (Immibis) and Advanced Machines (Atomic Striker)-- Padfoote Staff • Talk • Contributions 20:29, 26 June 2014 (BST)
- Should I just rename all the current Advanced Machines pages? Can you even do that without making new ones? Chocohead Nag• Contributions 20:37, 26 June 2014 (BST)
- As far as I know, only admins can edit article names, me and Padfoote do not have the ability to do that, but maybe ask Santa? :)
- Also, isn't it "AtomicStryker".
- -- RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 20:43, 26 June 2014 (BST)
- Yes it is, I'll bug Santa. Chocohead Nag• Contributions 20:48, 26 June 2014 (BST)
- Hmm, we can actually change titles by moving pages, just not ones marked for translation (which is basically every mod article). Any block or item article we can change. ;)

How would I do the one for Immibis' Advanced Machines without screwing up AtomicStryer's? Is it fine to make navboxes for mods which are missing them, or do you have to ask first? Chocohead Nag• Additions 17:55, 27 June 2014 (BST) PS: Do you know where the list of all the mod initials (IE, IC2 = Industrial Craft 2) is?
- What are you trying to do and are afraid of breaking?
Follow the template guidelines for the navbox and you'll be fine to make it.
Abbreviations. -- Padfoote Staff • Talk • Contributions 20:00, 27 June 2014 (BST)
- The Advanced Machines one currently doesn't seem to have any references to the fact it's AtomicStryker's version, so I was worried that making the Immibis one might end up conflicting. Chocohead Nag• Additions 20:21, 27 June 2014 (BST)
- The navbox? It'll probably need a move to fix that. -- Padfoote Staff • Talk • Contributions 21:50, 27 June 2014 (BST)

- ? Forgive me if I'm on a different page to you but is it conflicting your worrying about?
- The images could be named with "22:39, 27 June 2014 (BST)(AtomicStryker)" and "22:39, 27 June 2014 (BST)(immibis)"? --RealSketch •Purple Dragon •Staff •Talk •Contributions 22:39, 27 June 2014 (BST)
- The grid images are saved with a name and mod ID assigned to them. They won't conflict unless the mod IDs are identical, which shouldn't happen. -- Padfoote Staff • Talk • Contributions 22:42, 27 June 2014 (BST)
- You're fine then, if anything goes wrong you can just change the ID, but like Padfoote said, it shouldn't go wrong. --RealSketch •Purple Dragon •Staff •Talk •Contributions 22:44, 27 June 2014 (BST)
- Good luck, and don't forget about that Energy Units article I mentioned on your talk page. :)

- Very strange! I'm having the same problem for a machine: http://wiki.feed-the-beast.com/Centrifuge
- I've tried updating the tiles, still not success, I think Santa is the one to ask, Padfoote might know though, since he's a more experienced staff member than me...though he doesn't specialize in tiles. :P

IC2 Logo Help[]
Is there anyway to set this to the IC2 Getting Started Guide logo? Or setting it to the IC2 logo, since it is the official logo? http://imgur.com/5RDI2A1 Chocohead Nag• Additions 17:39, 1 July 2014 (BST)
- Snip. Hold on a sec.
- EDIT: I think it would be reptep you want to send it to. :)
- --RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 17:43, 1 July 2014 (BST)
- User:Chocohead, you can upload that to use. You'll need to use some image code to use it, and that is one thing I haven't messed with yet. Real, Santa and retep get stuff for tile sheets. This is an acceptable image upload, for future reference. ;) -- Padfoote Staff • Talk • Contributions 20:58, 1 July 2014 (BST)
Template Request[]
Who do I ask to make templates? The Ore Washing Plant doesn't have one, yet the Macerator and Thermal Centrifuge does ;S Chocohead Nag• Additions 16:43, 2 July 2014 (BST)
- No need, found it. :)
- But for future, I think Santa is the one to go to for any missing templates.
- --RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 16:46, 2 July 2014 (BST)
- You will have to ask him, saying that, the tiles for Vanilla Minecraft are from 1.4.7!
- --RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 17:00, 2 July 2014 (BST)
- Since that's a crafting template, you'll need to ask either Santa or retep. They'll handle creating it and getting the template correctly added to the template list. -- Padfoote Staff • Talk • Contributions 17:22, 2 July 2014 (BST)

Copper Problems[]
IC2 Copper was renamed to Copper Ingot, yet the wiki still thinks it's just copper, meaning it's missing a texture. Is there anyway you can (or know how to) fix that? Chocohead Nag• Additions 21:45, 2 July 2014 (BST)
- I'll get right on it. :)
- --RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 21:47, 2 July 2014 (BST)
- Sorry it's late for me, so excuse this question if it's obvious. :P
- Is it the tile or the navbox that needs changing, I can do both. ;)
- --RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 21:49, 2 July 2014 (BST)
- Neither from what I can see, I think it's the ore dictionary entry that is wrong. On the Induction Furnace page for example, the IC2 copper ingots on the recipe are red (so textureless) as they are Copper not Copper Ingot (like on the tilesheet). Chocohead Nag• Additions 21:58, 2 July 2014 (BST)
- I'll take a look. -- Padfoote Staff • Talk • Contributions 21:58, 2 July 2014 (BST)

Lol, I can't fix stuff today. I actually managed to break the Botania navbox that I wrote, twice...once after Santa's cleanup, then after Padfoote's inspection. :P --RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 22:14, 2 July 2014 (BST)
- Don't be surprised if I do a surprise refactor on that, it makes my head hurt and makes it so I can't fix it. :P -- Padfoote Staff • Talk • Contributions 22:17, 2 July 2014 (BST)

Archimedes Ships[]
"Removed myself as the Archimedes' Ships maintainer." Why? -- SatanicSantaTalk•Contribs•Admin 22:03, 3 July 2014 (BST)

Botania Question[]
With the mana pool, is it normal if you have lots of dayblooms and nightshadows around it with full bars, but the pool itself is empty? I'm kinda starting to worry that I'm doing something wrong. Chocohead Nag• Additions 20:51, 6 July 2014 (BST)
- The Mana Pool holds A LOT of Mana, so don't be surprised if it appears empty.
- I'd say give it a while, and you should see it fill up very slowly. :)
- --RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 21:02, 6 July 2014 (BST)
- Your absolute basics are the Dayblooms, your best are probably the Endoflames...
- If I were you, I would stick with Dayblooms for today and see how it goes, creating other flowers may just slow you down.
- Hopefully I'll get a guide up soon, but for today I've had to tile 350 Botania items and blocks, and then finishing every "decorative" block/item article in Botania. :P
- --RealSketch •Staff •Talk •Contributions 21:23, 6 July 2014 (BST)
I give up, is this wrong?: http://imgur.com/3imvynb I think it is, but I can't see any reason why Chocohead Nag• Additions 19:02, 7 July 2014 (BST)
- Not from what I can see, but on here it displays:
- "My Mana Pool's Mana isn't changing, I got a few Dayblooms producing and the bar doesn't move, what's wrong?
- The Mana Pool holds a lot of mana. Dayblooms produce a very little amount of it, so you probably won't even notice the difference in the bar. Go get some better flowers like Endoflames."
- Maybe try Endoflames, I'll get to documenting that now. ;)
- If problems still persist, I'd contact Vazkii, I know a lot about BTN but he is the creator. :P
- It could just be a bug, have you tried putting Dayblooms around a Mana Spreader, then pointing that into a Mana Pool. TBH I haven't seen anyone every get Mana into the Mana Pool by putting Dayblooms around it.
- Just tried something, you will need a Mana Spreader, then you can output to a Mana Pool. ;)
- Also, try Endoflames soon, they're better than Dayblooms in a way...
