Welcome[]

Welcome to the Feed The Beast Wiki, the number one resource for modded Minecraft :D -Xbony2 (talk) 12:11, 9 February 2017 (UTC)

Couple things[]

  1. Be sure to transclude {{About}} into disambiguated pages (where the article title ends with (Some Mod Name))
  2. Be sure to always include <languages /> at the very bottom of every article
  3. You should probably use the abbreviations for mods exactly as they are defined, since this AFAIK (I don't recall seeing it in the extension code but it might be handled in a module) is not necessarily intended behavior and will break lots of pages should it be removed. Just remember that abbreviations are entirely capital letters.

Keep up the great work! Cheers! -- SatanicSanta🎅FTB Wiki Admin 23:39, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

Stub aspect pages[]

Please don't make stub-class articles like this just to have the aspect documented. It's a rather unimportant part of the page. It looks like you're going through them and improving them, though. Btw, are you opposed to moving the aspects to the main infobox? -Xbony2 (talk) 11:24, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

I think that could be useful, although how do we deal with different aspect sets for different TC versions? -- SatanicSanta🎅FTB Wiki Admin 18:59, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
Pretty simple- "Thaumcraft 3 Aspects", "Thaumcraft 4 Aspects", "Thaumcraft 5 Aspects". -Xbony2 (talk) 22:26, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
Ah, my bad. ^^; I just wanted to get as many of the items' aspects in one fell swoop before expanding on them. As long as the different versions are clearly marked in the infobox it works for me. --SirMoogle (talk) 22:30, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Emoji[]

For some reason, your edits have been removing emojis from the page contents. Could you look into why that is happening? -- SatanicSanta🎅FTB Wiki Admin 05:02, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

It seems like it has to do with one of my emoji keyboard extensions. I've disabled it for the time being and seeing if there's an alternative extension that'll not get rid of emojis. --SirMoogle (talk) 07:55, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

IRC invitation[]

I invite you to join the FTB-Wiki IRC on #FTB-Wiki on espernet, it's pretty useful for editors to know each other and a much faster way to get any question you have answered. I don't know if someone invited you before me, but I would just like to have you on the Espernet Chat, since you're a pretty active and a very good editor. -IndestructiblePharaohVII 14:39, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Sounds interesting. See y'all on there. --SirMoogle (talk) 14:57, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

This diff is very confusing for me[]

https://ftb.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Fan_%28OpenBlocks%29&type=revision&diff=604631&oldid=604552 ??? -Xbony2 (talk) 14:22, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

Fixed. No idea what happened there. --SirMoogle (talk) 16:56, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for your help and attention[]

I've fulfilled the requirement you gave me, and added some more details and flare to the page after I fixed it, and I wanted to say thanks for how you helped me get a nice start on being a wiki editor, especially since I have nearly no idea what I'm doing. If you want to check out the page now, here's a link.Hope you like it! -- Reptile (talk)

Hey Reptile132, a good start to your first article! I'm going to move the page here and make the title more general. I suggest taking a look at pre-existing articles and reading the article creation guideline to use as a base to build off on creating new articles. It's a doozy, but I recommend editing through the source code as many of our templates require a lot of parameters to be input which is a little harder to do in the VisualEditor. Most important things for pages is to give them an infobox (for most items, blocks, and mechanics as that also has a parameter to describe the mod it is from), a navbox to the mod it belongs to along with a few categories. Feel free to ask me or any of the other active editors (like Lykrast, Hubry, or xbony2) if you have more questions. --SirMoogle (🐥💬🌟) 06:32, 10 November 2018 (UTC)

Thk for the help, Could I ask for more?[]

Hi! Thk again for the help about the navbox I was editing! Lately I've felt confuse when I have though about uploading a new file. I was wondering, how can I know if the file I'm searching for does already exist? Have I miss written the in-game name, according to template "NI"? Is the file available on the special list all files? How is used those Grid files? Is there is a set up who could allow me to print on a page, just a section of a grid file? If I try to upload a grid file for the mod gregtech community edition, what should I do to allow "ni" template to be able to link the required pictures on pages where it is invoked?

Well I was wondering if you could introduce me to some concept that I don't know yet, or if I should simply upload individual file anytime I feel the need to? Alxcoolalcool007 (talk) 10:43, 19 May 2019 (UTC)

Alxcoolalcool007: On this wiki we use item tilesheets to properly display them. I recommend taking a look at Abbreviations to see if the mod you want to use item images from is there, and consult the mod's registered tilesheet images at Special:TileList and searching for with the mod's abbreviation. If it's not there you're going to have to request a tilesheet or perform a tilesheet dump yourself and submit it to Feed The Beast Wiki:Tilesheet requests. Do not upload individual files. If you find the image you want to use, I suggest consulting the documentation for {{Gc}} and {{NI}}. --SirMoogle (🐥💬🌟) 18:29, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
