The Wooden Barrel is a block added by Immersive Engineering. It is similar to the Wooden Storage Crate, except it is for storing liquids, not items.
Right-clicking it with a Bucket (such as a Water Bucket) will transfer the liquid from the Bucket to the Wooden Barrel. However, not all liquids can be stored in a Wooden Barrel; "hot" liquids (such as Lava) and "gases" (such as Steam) are not allowed in it. Attempting to fill the Wooden Barrel with Lava or a similar "hot" liquid will yield the message "This fluid is too hot for the container!" via the Chat, and attempting to fill the Wooden Barrel with Steam of a similar "gas" will yield the message "This container can't store gasses!". For storing such liquids, the Metal Barrel is added.
Liquids can only be output through the bottom of the block, and can only be input through the top of the block.
